gabbys POV
I woke up to zac shaking me.
"hey gab, listen I just wanted to let you know everything's fine, me and Dylan are home and dad was arrested. I heard what happened yesterday at the church, you did amazing, I'm proud of you, you're such a strong little girl. I love you" zac said and was crying.
I wiped his tears and hugged him, "don't cry zac, you're home now" I said
"I know, we're all okay" he said and kissed my head.
"do you feel okay you're warm?" he asked
"yeah I just need some more sleep" I said
I went back to sleep.
I woke up and looked at my phone phone and it was 12, I missed cheer again, I'm thinking about quitting.
I showered then got changed into Jean shorts and a vneck and I French braided my hair and did my makeup.
I went downstairs and saw Dylan asleep on the couch.
I sat down by his feet and turned the TV on and the news came on.
I watched it for s few minutes then was about to turn it off when a segment called paparazzi came on.
I saw pictures of zac and Dylan and dave being taken in and cuffs and me hugging Hayes.
then I saw pictures of me sitting there ignoring them and then last I saw pictures of dave holding me and flipping off the cameras, which I didn't know he did.
I saw a picture of Dylan sitting outside the police station crying then I saw one of Dylan and zac hugging at the police station.
"this is crazy" I said
"what's crazy?" zac asked
"these stupid cameras" I said
"oh I know trust me" he said
"do you have a dress for the funeral tomorrow?" zac asked
"no, I never wear black" I said
"alright want me to take you?" zac asked
"I'll make Hayes go with me, you were up all night and need sleep" I said
"alright here's some money" he said and handed me a hundred and fifty dollars.
"thanks" I said and put it in my wallet.
I texted Hayes and he had to shower then he would pick me up because Nash and cameron we're going to the mall too.
I waited for about 20 minutes then he texted me saying he was here.
I got in the car and we all talked as we drove to the mall.
"we might go to the water park tomorrow if you wanna come" Nash said
"I have the funeral tomorrow but thanks for the invite" I said
"maybe next time" he said
we pulled up at the mall and all went inside.
"alright you 2 and go off and I'll meet you back here when I call you to leave" Nash said
me and Hayes walked around for a little while just talking.
"can we go in here I need to find a dress" I said as we passed express.
"yeah" he said and we went in and I found like 3 cute black dresses so I tried them on.
I liked the flowy lace one that came to my mid thigh.
"alright I'm gonna get this one" I said and hung the other ones back up then paid.
"want me to carry it?" Hayes asked
"no I got it thanks though" I said
"doesn't your mom come home today?" I asked
"no she has to cancel it because slylynn was sick" Hayes said
"aw" I said
we continued to walk around and just talk.
"alright I need to pee" Hayes said
"then go pee" I said
we went into the food court and I sat down at a table and Hayes went into the bathroom.
some kid, about 11 sat across from me then I heard cameras again.
"hey can you please leave my boy friends sitting there" I said
"sorry no can do sugar" he said
"fine" I said and got up and moved to another table and he followed me.
I saw Hayes come out of the bathroom and come towards us.
"hey what's going on?" Hayes asked
"oh nothing" he said and got up and ran away.
I saw the camera people hiding behind a trash can.
I got a text from zac and looked at it.
z-zac g-gabby
z-hey gab. they need you to come back and look at the body again to see if the makeup looks okay, I asked if I could just look and they said no for a woman it has to be a girl. I'm so sorry.
g-I'm at the mall
z-alright I'll come pick you up.
"Hayes can we go outside?" I asked
"yeah come on" he said and picked up my bag and grabbed my hand and we kept our heads down as the cameras flashed.
we got outside and I started pacing back and fourth.
"what's wrong?" he asked
"so yesterday this priest had me tell him my moms whole life and memories I've had with her and what I would miss most about her. then to top that off they made me go look at the body and tell them how to do her makeup and what jewelry and clothes to put on her. and now today they want me to go back to the body and they won't let anyone else, it has to be a girl" I said.
"that's not fair, they should not have you doing that" Hayes said
"well they're making me, like I don't wanna see my mom like that, it's horrible. the image doesn't leave your head" I said
"I know" he said and pulled me into a hug.
I saw Zacs car pull up so I said bye to Hayes and got in.
"did you get a dress?" he asked
"yeah right here" I said and held up the bag then handed him his change.
"thank you" I said
"of course" he said
we drove back to the place and went inside.
I held onto the back of Zacs shirt, "zac I don't wanna do this" I said
he turned around and just hugged me.
"I'm waiting" the makeup lady said.
"alright well you can wait a little longer" Zac said
"listen, it's just for 2 minutes, I'll be right out here, you're strong enough for this" zac said
I let go of him and went into the room and saw my moms makeup.
"no that's not right" I said
"what's wrong with it?" the lady asked
"she's never that tan, she doesn't wear that much blush, she only wears brown and tan eyeshadow shades and she doesn't fill her eye brows in. it's all wrong" I said
she got a wipe and scrubbed the makeup off.
"okay you're gonna have to sit in here and tell me what to do" she said
I started feeling sick, I don't like this.
"can I step outside for one minute" I said
"one minute" she said
I ran outside the room and saw a trash can and threw up in it.
I stood up and wiped my face off.
"Come on outside, you need some fresh air" zac said
we went outside and he handed me a half drank water but I drank the rest.
the lady came out yelling, "it's been 3 minutes, I have a family I wanna get home to let's go"
I stood up and followed her back in.
I sat next to my moms cold body holding her hand and telling this lady what to do.
I put my moms rings and brackets on her, "that's enough, she's done" I said
"okay bye" the lady said and I went back outside and threw up again.
I stood up and walked outside and zac followed me.
"ar-" I cut zac off
"no I don't wanna talk about it. I just wanna go home right now" I said
"alright we are" zac said
he drove home and I just looked out the window the whip ride and as soon as we got home I ran inside and saw Dylan in the kitchen, I just ran and hugged him.
"hey hey" he said and hugged me back.
zac came in, "gab do me a favor and drink some water you lose a lot of fluids when you throw up" he said
"I will" I said
"how was it?" dave asked
"awful, the lady did it all wrong and then was like you have to sit in here while i fix it to gabby then gabby asked for a minute of fresh air and came out of the room and started throwing up so I took her outside for a minute and the lady came out yelling so she went back in then after words was throwing up again. no body should ever have to do that with their loved ones" zac said
"gab you can let go now" Dylan said
"no" I said
he just hugged me back then after like 5 minutes I let go and got some water.
"okay I'm going to bed" I said
"hey missy you need to eat first" zac said
"no, stop making me eat, I'm not anorexic. I don't feel good" I said because my stomach still hurts.
"gab, please just eat something" zac said
"no" I said and went up to my room.
I took a hot shower and laid down in bed and went to sleep.
