Virat sat properly and Rohit sat in front of him preparing himself for the conversation. He didn't know how it would be so difficult just to voice out his own emotions. He could now relate to Virat about how he was nervous and anxious about the whole statement.
It was definitely not easy.
"Kab start kiya?" asked Virat initiating the conversation.
"Everything was too much like Jassi being devastated as you were gone, Juniors not trusting you, Family looking for answers everyday me and bhai came home, board and management pressurising me against you but still I was handling myself" Rohit said taking a deep breath.
"Then?" Virat asked again.
"One day management was forcing me to tell them about your whereabouts and everything basically driving me crazy! I came back home and for the very first time, Vami came to me and asked me, 'Ro Cha? Dada where?' Her eyes searching for answers! That was the breaking point to be honest, weak pad Gaya mai when I saw her eyes" Rohit said remembering that day.
"I just didn't think of anything else, I was so angry on you at that time for leaving me alone like that. I couldn't control myself and that's when my anger took over me and I broke the promise" Rohit said honestly.
Virat understood the magnitude of things he had to go through, the emotions. He saw Rohit restless again, Virat just put his hands around him pulling him into a hug, a very reassuring hug.
Rohit could not control himself and he broke down in tears.
"Shh! Rohit, everything is okay now. I am here and I promise I will never leave you like the way I did" said Virat softly consoling him.
"I.. didn't mean.. just could.. not" Rohit began but now he realised that his breathing was not normal.
Virat broke the hug and saw him sweating a lot.
Rohit rubbed his face to calm himself down. Trying hard not to panic again as he didn't want to stress Virat.
"Rohit, calm down! Rohit listen to me" said Virat holding his shivering hands.
"I.. can't.. breathe" said Rohit trying to calm himself.
"You can, focus on my voice. Deep breaths, one, two! Listen to me Ro" Virat said rubbing his back.
Virat held his hands and tried to gain his attention.
"Dekh Rohit mai yahi hu, kuch nahi hua mujhe! Focus Ro" Virat kept reminding him.
It took half hour for Rohit to calm down. Virat passed him water which he gulped down in a go.
"Aaram se" Virat said immediately.
"Abhi yeh bhi puchna padhega ya u can read my mind" asked Virat after a min.
"2-3 days back u got unconscious, that day it just took me back to when I found you on floor at your apartment in SA. You didn't remember me then and you were forcing yourself to get hold of things. So I thought I was gonna loose you again which caused me first panic attack" said Rohit.
Rohit looked up to see Virat staring at him with moist eyes.
"Kya Hua? Kahi pain ho raha hai?" Asked Rohit in concern.
"I just.. I am so sorry Ro for all this. I never thought it would get this messed up. My sole purpose was to protect you and Bhai, not let anything happen to you. Because of me everyone suffered" said Virat being guilty.
"Sure Vi, sab tere wajah se hua hai" said Rohit a little firmly.
"I know" said Virat in low voice.
"Tere wajah se Jassi innocent prove hua" Rohit smacked him lightly on his arm.
Virat rubbed his hand and looked at him surprised and confused what he was saying.
"Teri wajah se my and bhai's career, reputation got saved" he smacked his other hand that too very lightly.
"Teri wajah se Indian cricket fixing racket got busted" said Rohit again smacking him.
"Oww Ro lag rahi hai" Virat said rubbing his arms.
"Lagni bhi chahiye, head wound is recovering nahi toh 2-3 sar pe maarta! Pagal, Gadha" Rohit said to his pouty face.
"Stop feeling guilty idiot and just promise me aise kabhi kuch nahi karega" Rohit said.
"Look who is talking about Promise" Virat said raising his eyebrows.
"Sorry bola na" Rohit said in his defense.
"It is not enough and I can't promise this" Virat said seriously.
"Why?" asked Rohit being confused.
"If this situation comes again to protect anyone from our family I will happily do it no matter what situation or consequences" Virat said firmly.
"And I am not gonna get convinced on that so don't even try" said Virat not leaving room for argument or discussion.
"Okay fine, we will see when it comes to it" Rohit said knowing very well there was no use of arguing.
"And I am not forgiving you for breaking our promise"
"Vi yaar, what I have to do to earn your forgiveness?"
"Mujhe kya pata, Maine thodi toda promise" Virat said shrugging his shoulders.
"And one more thing, next time if I see you smoking or drinking, it would be ur last day as my friend and I mean it! And be thankful I didn't say anything to Ritsy otherwise wo mere se pehle Tera murder karti" Virat said warning him.
"Okay boss jaise tu bole but please Ritsy ko mat bata na" Rohit said folding his hands infront of him.
"Okay!" Virat said agreeing to him.
"Go and bring something to eat I am hungry and think about forgiveness too, I am not talking till then" said Virat ordering him.
Rohit couldn't help but just smile and hug him tightly listening to his orders just like it always was. Just like they were and always gonna be, ordering around, manofying each other and crazy!
