Joy's POV
Napailing nalang ako. Ang kulit talaga ng bestfriend ko. Nag try kami ng ilang rides pero yung hindi masyadong risky. Naka formal na damit pa kasi kami eh. Paano ba naman, sabi ko sa kanya bumili muna kami ng damit dun sa souvenir shop pero hindi ako pinakinggan ayan tuloy, limited lang yung galaw namin. Buti nga lang hindi fitted tong suot ko eh.
Good thing almost midnight na. Open pa tong amusement park although mangilan ngilan nalang ang tao. Mabuti na rin yun, konti lang makakakita sa amin. At isa pa sikat tong bestfriend ko baka madumog pa. Tapos baka akalain pa kaming weirdos dahil dito sa suot namin. Pffft.
"Hey, let's ride at the ferris wheel." I requested at him na agad naman nya tinanguan.
"It's our second time riding a Ferris wheel together." Sabi niya. Napatingin ako sa kanya at hindi ko akalaing nakangiti na siya.
"Oo, the first time is when you were so down kasi nireject ka ni Jinny for the very first time. Sobrang heartbroken mo that time. Kaya siguro gusto mo ulit pumunta rito. Kasi for the record, heartbroken ka na naman."
Napailing ito. "You do remember that. I never even thought what true love is back then."
"Uyyyy anong hindi, eh ilang taon mo na siya kayang gusto. Hindi pa ba true love yun?" I said and smile a bit. Now it's getting awkward if I talk about Jinny, or should I say I'm still so much affected.
"Sorry for bringing her up." I looked at the window nang hindi niya ako sagutin.
"No big deal." Sagot niya sa akin.
"Ano pala yung sasabihin mo?" I asked him habang nakatingin ako sa city lights. Bakit ba hirap ko na siyang tignan ngayon sa mata? Hindi ko alam, pero his stare these days, parang tumatagos lagi sa kaluluwa ko.
"I miss you so much." Biglang sabi nito sa akin. I didn't expect that he'll say that again.
Napangiti ako sa narinig ko at sinagot siya. "Kanina mo pa yan sinasabi eh."
"I just want to let you know, that I can't live without you." Sabi nito habang nakaupo sa harap ko.
"Hmm.." Sabi ko sabay chuckle. "Yah, siyempre, you will still live kahit wala ako. Ano ka ba hahaha."
He shook his head. "I won't." He insisted at bumuntong hininga.
Napailing nalang ako habang nakangiti. "Hala why the sudden sighs?"
I asked him, but he didn't talked again. We just stayed there silent for the rest of the ride. Kapag napapatingin ako siya, nakikita kong nakatingin na siya sa akin. At hindi ko talaga matagalan ang mga titig niya kaya napapabalik ang tingin ko sa bintana.
We sat in silence hanggang sa pagbaba namin. "Hey, I guess time to go home?" Sabi ko at nginitian siya.
Nang naglalakad na ako papaalis, bigla niya ulit ako ginuyod. "Ya, saan na naman tayo pupunta?"
"Promise, last na." He said and smiled. We walked and he led me to the merry-go-round. I wonder. Does he want a ride here? Pffft. Ang cute talaga niya.
"Uy Hopie! Tignan mo oh, ang daming mini J-Hope." Sabi ko sabay asar sa kanya as I pointed at the Mini him infront of us. Oh my, I'm so mean haha.
"Joy naman eh." Sabi nito at medyo namula. Aish, hahaha ang dali talaga niyang mamula. "Tara na sakay na tayo." I told him and we bought some ticket. Pagkapasok namin I immediately rode on of them. Pero si J-Hope naglalakad lang papunta sa akin.
"Ya, umupo ka na diyan sa kabila, ppali!" Sabi ko sa kanya pero hirap talaga akong umakyat dahil sa gown na suot ko.
"Nope. I'll just stand here." Sabi niya sabay tayo sa tabi ko at binuhat ako paakyat dun sa upuan. Medyo mataas kasi eh. His touch made me shiver. I felt chills run through me.
"Thank you.." I whispered to him. The ride started to move around and we were just there in silence. I looked around at napansing kaming dalawa lang ang nakasakay sa ride na to.
"Sayang yung ticket na isa." Pagbabasag ko sa katahimikan.
"It's fine, we could go for another round." Sabi nito at nagsmile.
The ride continued moving in circles, pero nandito lang talaga siya sa tabi ko. So I thought of teasing him again. "Miss mo na ba sila Hopie, kaya ka pumunta rito?" I asked and teased him.
"No." He stated. Won't he joke around with me? Ang seryoso niya eh.
"I went here because I miss you." He suddenly said again.
"There you go again.." Bulong ko sa kanya.
"Do you remember back when we were just kids?" He asked at naalala ko ang nakaraan. Back when we were kids, dito kami madalas pumasyal. How I miss the olden days.
Napatingin ako kay Hopie na nagsimulang magkuwento. I can't help but smile at the sight I'm seeing right now. He seems so caught up with our memories, just like how I do. And it makes me happy knowing that I'm not the only one who remembers.
"Sometimes we play here. Kids that time teases me that I look like these horses. All the time, yan nalang ang naririnig ko. People are so judgemental. I thought all were the same, but then you showed up and proved everything wrong. You were the only one who stood up before me. You were so different from them, you saved me from their words. That time, I just thought I found my hero. I just can't believe a girl would help me out. And you know since then, I've admired you for that." J-Hope said as he looked at me directly in my eyes as he share his mesmerizing smile.
