Song of the Chapter is... Aaron Burr, Sir!

It was Christmas Eve, 7 pm, and the kids were just situated comfortably, enough space for health conditions, and everyone took a covid test three days before. Dad is still experimenting with a vaccine as this is still the first wave (The first wave sucked, I know) and the quarantine is still intact, just less enforced. I looked around at everyone and smiled, holding my thumbs up. The lights came on and King George's voice came overhead.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, this is your king, George III. Welcome to Knockoff- Ow!" The kids laughed and the speaker cleared his throat. "Hamilton. At this time, please silence all children- OW!"

"Stick to the script, KING GEORGE." I whisper-yelled, causing more children to laugh and the king mumbled under his breath.

"All cell phones and electronic devices. All laughter is strictly- E-Expected! All laughter is strictly expected, of course, young lads and lassies. Thank you, and enjoy my show-OW! I was sticking to the script!" Laughter erupted as the king grumbled and snickers were heard backstage.

"That's just because of who you are."

"My character?"

"If you describe yourself as a charact-"

"Enough children, back to the show!" The kids were enjoying the bickering and Samantha had the biggest smile she could muster, eyes tearing from hearty laughter. The lights went dark and a single spotlight shined on Aaron Burr as he entered the stage. He stood in the light and began to sing his lines, looking up out to the crowd of children and nurses. I grinned as the smile on the stage glistened and every note was hit perfectly.

"How does a bastard, orphan, son of a whore

And a Scotsman, dropped in the middle of a forgotten spot

In the Caribbean by providence impoverished

In squalor, grow up to be a hero and a scholar?" Burr stepped to the side as John Laurens stepped up and he was submerged in darkness as Laurens continued singing.

"The ten-dollar founding father without a father

Got a lot farther by working a lot harder." Burr was still in the shadows, but enough light hit him for his body to be somewhat visible and Burr moved along with the singing.

"By being a lot smarter

By being a self-starter

By fourteen, they placed him in charge of a trading charter." The spotlight changed to follow Thomas Jefferson as he walked onto the stage and carried on with the next verse. Burr was still in the shadows behind where Jefferson was walking on stage and the 2nd president paid no mind while he stood in place to finish his lines.
