The Kid Is Broken..

"Hello, everyone. I, um, left this incase we couldn't find another way. In hindsight, I'm sure everyone probably expected my dad to end it all, but.. I couldn't let that happen. I couldn't lose the only family I had ever known. I hope you know, whether it happens or not, I tried to bring Aunt Tasha back. I really did."

Bruce squeezed Natasha's hand as if a reassurance that she was still there and she gave him a small squeeze back. The widow couldn't move. Hearing his voice after coming back to find him gone.. It was too painful to think that a 15 year old boy, who should mean absolutely nothing to her, sacrificed his life and tried to bring her back.

"Dad, I know you're going to be blaming yourself, but please don't. I know you wanted to be the one who made the- how would Cap say it? "Sacrifice play"? Is that right?" Peter questioned as he placed his hand on his chin and Bucky frowned at the mention of the man who left him for a female.

"How does he-"

"He's a smart kid, Natasha." Tony sighed as the kid sat silently and the group talked quietly, watching the boy look down in contemplation.

"I thought daddy told Peter?" Morgan chimed in sadly and Tony sighed. Just as the billionaire went to speak, all attention was brought back to the screen and Peter began to talk. (Edit; Peter didn't disappear in this one shot, btw. So he knows Morgan.. Should've mentioned this when first posted, sorry...)

"They say... Yesterday is gone, today is almost over, and the future is not promised.. I guess that's the truest statement given the predicament, huh?" Peter slightly chuckled and Sam chuckled sadly with Bucky and Clint. Everyone either had tears threatening to fall from their eyes or rivers flowing down their cheeks, no in between. Natasha looked at her new niece and her tears fell as she saw the small child pay attention to every word coming from her brother's mouth. Morgan was the only one not in tears and it was ironic that she was the only straight faced person in the room.

"Well, I guess I shouldn't bore everyone with this video any longer. I guess this video is mainly to let you guys know that I love you. Morgan?" Peter asked as he looked in the direction the kid was seated, an educated guess made when he was filming and the girl stood, walking closer to the holoscreen.

"P-Petey?" Morgan asked as she reached her hand out and stopped, realizing what she was seeing was only a holoprojector with a video of her brother.

"Hi baby." Peter gave a smile and tears seemed to glisten in both of their eyes. "I'm so sorry, Maguna.. I hope it's okay I called you that, I know that annoyed you when I used dad's nickname. Baby girl, my biggest regret... is that I won't be there to watch you grow. I won't be there to see your first dance, graduation, marriage..." Peter trailed off as he got choked up and Pepper hid her face in Tony's shoulder, crying.

"Peter.."

"I won't be there for that, but baby, I need you to remember that I am always going to look out for you. I'll be with the other angels, looking out for you, daddy, mommy, Aunt Tasha, and everyone else. When you need me, speak aloud and I will hear you. I.. Love you.. All of you." Peter finished and the holoscreen went off as the video ended. Morgan sat on the floor with her head down and everyone stayed where they were for a few minutes more, mourning the kid they lost last night.

"It wasn't supposed to end this way.." Tony spoke for the first time after the funeral and all the adults sat around the living room, watching videos of the spiderteen.
