It was Monday. The weekend had gone by in a blur. Erin Lindsay was supposed to be coming back today. It had been four months since she had left. Harper walked across the apartment "You about ready to go?" she asked Jay, snapping him out of his thoughts. She usually went earlier than him, but they decided to go in together today because Erin was probably already there and Harper didn't want to talk to her. "Yeah, let's go" Jay said, swinging his bag over his shoulder as he grabbed his keys.

As they walked up to the Intelligence Unit, Harper saw Lindsay sitting at her desk. Harper couldn't help but roll her eyes, she was pissed that Lindsay always got her way no matter what. She squeezed Jay's shoulder reassuringly before walking over to her desk, "This is my desk" Harper said gesturing to the desk Erin was sitting at across from Jay's desk. "Oh, I thought Voight was going to partner Jay and I up again," Erin said, flashing a small smile at Jay while he looked at her blankly and turned his eyes to Harper.

Jay was becoming angry. How dare she act like a petty bitch when it was her first day back? How dare she take his partner's desk? How dare she act like they were supposed to be partners when she was the one who left him? He unclenched his fist, not wanting to seem like he was angry with Erin because he didn't want to get in trouble with Voight. "No, Jay and I are staying partners and my stuff is still here" Harper said, flashing Erin a fake smile. "Oh, okay," Erin said, getting up and finding a different desk.

As Burgess sat down across from Erin's desk since they were partners, Erin asked, "What's up between them?" referring to Harper and Jay bantering with each other. "Oh, they're not dating or anything, at least that's what they tell everyone, but they've gotten so much closer, these past few months, they've even moved in together" Kim explained she was about to talk about how good a couple Harper and Jay would be but she stopped herself as she remembered that Erin and Jay used to be together. Erin nodded, swallowing.

The case the unit was working had started off with patrol finding a child beaten. Then, other people in the neighborhood had come out and said that they had found their children beaten unconscious but they were afraid to tell the police because they were illegal. This case was hard for everyone but it was especially hard for Harper because of her past.

At the end of the week, they had solved the case, a white male was beating these kids up because he was mad their parents were coming to the United States illegally. Harper was drained, the case had taken everything out of her. Every time they had found a child she wanted to cry but she knew she had to stay strong. The worst part of the case was that they couldn't even press charges against the guy because a witness couldn't pick him in a lineup.

A couple of minutes later, Harper heard the locker room door opening and jumped up pretending to get something from her locker. She didn't want people to think she was dating Jay, she didn't want to make Jay feel embarrassed. As Lindsay walked into the locker room she flashed a smile at Jay, while he gave a nod at her in response. Harper quickly stepped out of the locker room not wanting to make things more awkward than they already were.

"Hey, can we talk over dinner tomorrow?" Erin asked Jay. Jay thought about it for a while, Erin was so petty that she would probably tell a lie to Voight about him if he said no so he answered back "Sure" he said nonchalantly.

He could stand one hour with Erin, right? "Okay great, I'll meet you at the Purple Pig tomorrow at 7" she said, sauntering out of the locker room, Jay couldn't help but roll his eyes. Whenever he had actually liked her and was willing to take her to dinner, she said 'let's keep it professional'. As he walked out of the locker room, he decided not to tell Harper about the dinner coming up, he didn't want her to think it was a big deal to him or anything.
