Colby's POV

Sam splashed me in the face with the hot water one last time before I held my hands up, "alright truce" I said with a laugh, "truce" Sam said then splashed me one more time causing me to laugh. I looked at Kat who was sitting next to Sam. She looked off where Cora was and gasped as her smile fell and concern crossed her eyes.

"C-c-c" Cora said causing me to snap my gaze to her. As I did I watched her eyes roll back and her body stiffen and start to twitch, "oh my god. CALL 911!" I yelled and jump out of the hot tub and ran to her side.

"You're supposed to time it!!" Devyn yelled and scrambled to her phone as I brushed the hair from Cora's face, "it's okay baby, you're okay." I whispered as the seizure continued. I felt so helpless as her body jerked, she had only had one once before and it stopped her heart, so I was on edge as tears trickled down my cheeks. Everyone was running around yelling but I couldn't focus on them, I could only focus on Cora. "How long has it been?" I said to Devyn who was timing it. "40 seconds." She said as Cora's body slowly stopped shaking. Her eyes remained closed as she would occasionally jerk.

"Is she alive??" Kat sobbed out as she ran to my side. "I-I dont know!" I yelled and brushed her hair back from her face. "An ambulance is on the way, did you check her pulse?!" Corey yelled and knelt down next to Devyn. Before I could even respond, Cora's eyes started to open,

"hey, there she is." I said softly as my heart started to slow down a little. My hands still shook with adrenaline, but I tried to stay calm for her sake, "w-what happened?" She asked and tried to sit up, "shh, lay down, you had a seizure you're okay though, the ambulance is on the way." I said and brushed her cheek with the back of my fingers. She just nodded and laid her head down, closing her eyes, "keep your eyes open, Cora." Sam said gently from behind me, "I'm sleepy." She whispered and Kat shook her shoulder, "open your eyes!" She said sternly causing my own eyes to widen, "I'm sorry." Cora whispered and kept her eyes open.

We waited a couple minutes before Jake came running up, paramedics following closely behind.

"What happened?" One of the paramedics said as everyone moved out of their way, "she had a seizure, it lasted about 40 seconds. Shes awake now and I don't know if this matters but she's pregnant." I said and he nodded,

"Hey sweetheart, can you sit up for me?" He said to Cora as the two paramedics helped sit her up straight. She reached her hand out to me, so I took it, "do you have any history of epilepsy?" He asked her and she shook her head, "I was in a car accident not too long ago.." she mumbled "is this your first seizure? I assume not since your friend knew to time it." He said and Cora shook her head, "I had one in the hospital...but not since." She spoke shakily as I tightened my grip on her hand, they looked at Devyn, "how did you know to time it? That's a pretty important thing to know when someone has a seizure?" She laughed, "I have an irrational fear of them." She said then shrugged.

The paramedics asked Cora a bunch of questions as they did some tests, "okay, it looks like you're going to be fine, but we are a bit concerned that the accident knocked something in your brain to cause seizures. This shouldn't effect your baby at all, since it's got to do with your brain, but I suggest going to get checked out as soon as you can. We can take you in now if you want." She shook her head, "no." She whispered as I squeezed her hand gently. "Okay, Thats fine, I know that seizures can be pretty scary but your friends did the right thing, you seem to be in good hands." He said calmly as Cora nodded, she looked exhausted as the paramedics packed up their things and left the backyard.

"I think we are going to go to bed." I said and helped Cora up, she seemed to be doing fine but it was still horrifying that she had to deal with this now. "Goodnight guys." Cora said and wrapped her arm around my shoulders, allowing me to support her weight. "We love you!" Sam said and everyone agreed as we made our way inside.

"You okay baby?" I asked and she nodded, "I'm sorry.." she said quietly as we stopped in the kitchen to get some water. "For what?" I asked and scrunched my brows in confusion, "for ruining the night.." she sighed and leaned against the counter. "Hey, you didn't ruin anything. You can't help it that this happened. We are going to sort things out okay?" I said and cupped her face. She looked so guilty as I rubbed her cheek with my thumb, "I'm serious. You're fine, we are all just glad you're okay." I said and kissed her forehead as she let out a breath.

"That accident ruined my life." She breathed out causing my heart to break, "I'm so sorry, baby girl." I whispered and collected her in my arms, "but you came out of it stronger than ever. You're so strong. You're so so tough for getting through that and I couldn't be more proud of you if I tried. Recovering from something as traumatic as that is always going to be difficult, but we will get through it together." I said as she burried her face in my chest. I took a deep breath in, kissing the top of her head, "I love you." She mumbled into my chest, "and I love you. You seem a little more awake now, did you want to actually go to bed or do you want to still hang out with everyone?" I asked and lifted her chin so she could look at me, "hang out with them..I feel bad for ruining everyone's fun."

I shook my head and put my hand on her neck, caressing her jawline with my thumb. "You didn't ruin anyone's fun, you gotta stop being so hard on yourself, love." I said and she nodded. "You're right." She whispered and leaned up to kiss me.

"Ready to go back out?" I asked as we pulled away and she nodded, "yeah, I'm taking the pickles out with me though." She said looking at me sheepishly, I chuckled and opened the fridge for her. "I can't wait until you hate these things again." I said as she grabbed the Cheetos from the cupboard as well.
