(Y/N) POV

My phone rang in the middle of the night, my favourite song waking me up abruptly to make me fall out of bed onto the floor. I reached up to my bedside table, checking my phone to see an old friend calling.

"Alright, what do you want Nico?" I answered the phone in a groggy voice. I heard him laugh before making a request of me.

"Hello, (y/n). So, my bus left and... I need a ride and a place to stay?" he asked, warily. With a groan, I checked the time to see my clock read 12:30 am. "If you can't, it's fine. I'll-"

"No. Shut up, I'll be there in twenty minutes. Where are you? Never mind, hockey." I mumbled and jumbled my words as I pushed myself from the ground to start getting ready. I heard a small "thank you" before the line went silent and I got ready to leave my apartment. I cleaned up my hair, put on a fussy hoodie, and leggings with the Jersey Devil's symbol. Leaving the top floor, I started up my truck and started my journey to the stadium. Without trying hard, I picked out the 6-foot man in a very clean suit standing at by the front door of the building.

"Nice truck," he called while chucking his bag in the back. I hummed in response, unlocking the doors for him to get in. "Thank you, (y/n). I'll pay you back sometime," he laughed, watching as I drove.

"We'll figure that out later. Let's just get home and go to bed," I groaned, still fighting the sleep back. "How could you miss your bus, anyhow?" I pestered, anger growing in my stomach.

"I was... pranked." His dejected voice answered all my questions, even the ones I hadn't answered. "Sorry, again."

"You're fine. Stop saying sorry, I care and am going to help you." I watched him smile widely in my peripheral vision. "You smile and laugh, I'm the one who should be. You're the idiot who fell for a prank like that," I teased, watching him turn away in embarrassment.

"Shut up," he warned, hitting my shoulder lightly before holding my arm close to him. "Fuzzy," he mumbled.

"Hey! I'm driving, Nico." He grinned, not listening to my words as we turned onto the road where my living space was. "Alright you, get out and grab your stuff." I pulled into my parking spot and headed to the door with the hockey player in tow. Heading to the elevator, we packed ourselves in with the large duffle bag; we were practically squished together as the bag took up most of the small metal box.

"Sorry," he nervously chuckled. I rolled my eyes before the door opened and we pushed ourselves out to the hallway to my door. "Cute place," he commented.

"Ha-ha." I mocked, unlocking the door to see my small three-room apartment. "Home sweet home." Nico dropped his bag on the couch, stretching and heading to the bathroom. "Make yourself at home," I whispered to myself as I headed back to bed. I felt it dip a few thirty minutes had gone by. "Hey! Out." I shouted, starting to push him off.

"The couch is too small and it's currently holding my bag." He laughed with each word; I gave in after a few more minutes of laughter and excuses, letting him crawl under the blankets with me. I felt his chest rise and fall against my back, his strong arms holding me close.

"Anything you want to tell me, Nico?" I inquired, getting the hints.

"I love you," he sleepily said. Kissing my neck gently, I turned to him and peck his cheek; we fell asleep a few minutes later.
