"You're suggesting you go over there and try to communicate with him?" Logan sighed. "You do realise he will rip your head off. Figuretively."
"I-I just wanna give it a try. See how it goes. Maybe.. maybe he's not that bad." Virgil messed with his lilac cardigan sleeves.
"You always see the best in people even when they don't have that." Logan mentioned. "You guys are like polar opposites." He looked at Roman across the cafeteria. "Piercings and dark attire." Then he turned to Virgil across the table. "Pastels and light attire."
Virgil sighed. "But.. he's always hanging out with that Patton kid. He is nothing like him!" He poked his food.
"Just stick with me. It's fine." Logan pushed.
"But-"
"No buts." He looked at his friend sternly.
"I'm glad I kept you away from Roman while I could." Logan said. Him and Virgil were walking to the mall. Hot Topic had a clearance on all band merch, and Virgil had to get his hands on the new BTS and EXO merch.
"Why's that?" He asked, oblivious to why he would make that remark.
"Haven't you noticed him and Patton aren't hanging out anymore? He started hanging out with that Dee kid and suddenly they had a falling out." He sighed. "People are saying they witnessed them threatening to kill Patton." Logan pushed open the mall doors.
"Well.. those are just rumours." Virgil shrugged, walking through the maze of chairs and small tables that consisted of the food court.
"Virgil, they said they were there to witness it." Logan pressed on.
"So what? They could just be lying."
"For crying out loud! Virgil, don't go near him." He grunted.
"Rumours are just rumours until proven false." He walked a little ahead towards the store. He trudged towards the back where they kept the band shirts. "Sweet."
"How much money did you bring exactly?" Logan asked, looking at the clearance prices.
"$60. Clearance prices will equal $15, and each shirt is a buy one get one free. So if I buy two, I get two for free. Then I can waste my money on some other stuff too." He turned back to his friend and smiled. "You want something?"
"I brought money for Japanese snacks. I'm gonna stop by Sam Goody to get those and meet you back here, okay?" Logan walked away after Virgil nodded at him.
"So.. I'll buy two BTS shirts, get an EXO one for free and a Red Velvet on for free. Sounds good." He mumbled to himself, grabbing the shirts in his size. He turned around to walk over to cashier, stopping in his tracks after bumping into a certain someone. "S-Sorry!" He squeaked.
Roman looked down at him. "Oh, uhm.. it-it's okay." He avoided eye contact and walked back over to Dee.
Virgil watched him for a second. He wasn't a bad guy, and he could tell. He watched as Roman emptied his pockets with a $10. He also noticed him sadly looking up at the anime shirts.
"Let's just go, Dee." He muttered, beginning to walk out.
"Wait!" Virgil ended up calling. He ran over to the anime shirts. "Ah, I uh, have extra. Which did you want?"
Roman and Dee stared at him. "Th-The Totoro one.." he said. "But, you don't have to get it for me, it's okay!"
Virgil grabbed the Totoro shirt in a large and walked over to the cashier.
"$45 in total." She smiled. "And what's a good phone number for you?"
He gave her his phone number. After getting his stuff, he left, handing Roman his shirt. They stood outside of Hot Topic.
"Thank you so much!" Roman said hugging him. "Here, a 10 is all I have."
"Ah, no thanks. Anyways, I got to meet my friend. See you later!" Virgil waved and turned around. He saw Logan standing there, a disappointed and worried look on his face.
"Virgil. Are you okay? Why did he hug you? Did he hurt you? Turn around, is there something on your back? If he lays another finger on you, I swea-"
"Logan! Calm down! I told you, he's not a bad guy. I just bought him a shirt he wanted, that's all." Virgil groaned at his friend's questions.
"He forced you to buy him a shirt?!" He glared at Roman and Dee who were still standing in front of Hot Topic.
"Logan! For fucks sake, I did it on my own! Jesus christ, I'm leaving." He turned around and waved to Roman before walking past Logan.
"Stay away from him." Logan warned. He turned and followed his friend. "You wanna eat these Japanese snacks when we get to your house?"
"Go home."
