Broken Down

Virgil was just waking up. He grabbed his phone and shut off the alarm. He groaned as he got out of bed.
He went over to his dresser and grabbed his ripped purple shirt, black skinny jeans that were ripped at the knee, and his signature black and purple patched jacket.
Virgil headed downstairs. He put on his black converse and left the house, not caring about breakfast. He locked up the house nd unlocked his car before leaving.

He arrived at work. Dutch Bros. He began taking peoples orders at the left window.
Virgil's co-worker bumped into him and they both spilled the drinks they were preparing. He groaned and grabbed a rag to clean it. "Logan, take my order for a second." He said.
"I'm so sorry, Virge! Do you want help?" His co-worker, Joan asked. They had always been a nice person, and them and Logan were Virgil's favourite people to work with.
"Nah, I'm good." He finished up cleaning the mess. He tossed the rag in the sink and took his place back, taking the order from Logan.

Virgil said goodbye to Logan and Joan before leaving and going home. He hummed to the song Stay Frosty Royal Milk Tea by Fall Out Boy on the drive home.
His car started slowing down, so he pulled to the side. His house was still quite a ways. He grabbed his phone and went through his contacts. Joan and Logan were still working, Patton was at the daycare, Thomas was with his family, and Talyn is buying their new rats. Which left one person. Roman.
"God I can't stand that guy..." Virgil mumbled to himself. "C'mon, someone has to be free besides him!" He didn't have a lot of contacts because he usually used Snapchat or Instagram to text people, but he had run out of data.
He groaned loudly and pressed the green phone next to Roman's name.

Calling SirSingAlong...

"Hello?"

"Hey Roman.... uhm... it's me, ya boi- (okay no thats not what he actually said) it's me, Virgil. I kinda, uh, got stuck on the way home from work... could ya come and... help me?"

"Of course! Where are you?"

"I-5." (Ik thats on the other side of the US from Florida, but I couldnt think of anything)

"Okay, I'll be right there!"

Virgil put his hands on his face and groaned in anger. "God dammit!" He let go of his face and kicked his tire.

After a little while, Roman pulled over a bit in front of his car. "Fear not, for I am he-"
"Yeah okay whatever let's go." Virgil groaned getting in Roman's car. "I'll call Thomas to come pick it up."
"Oh um, okay. I just thought we could jump it." Roman said  sitting down in the drivers seat.
"I locked it and the alarms are on. And I just wanna get home and relax."
Roman turned on his car and pulled onto the highway. "Or you can relax at my house."
"Absolutely not. Just because I asked if you could come help, doesn't mean we're instantly friends again." Virgil looked out the passenger window.
"Okay, then we can go to your house and relax." Roman smiled.
"No." He sighed. "Your not coming to my house."
"I'm going to be your best friend again somehow." Roman laughed. "I don't even wanna be friends! It's obvious I'm in love with you, Virgil." He kept his eyes on the road.
He instantly looked over at the man driving. He blinked a few times, refusing to believe what he just said. "Excuse me?"
"I'm in love with you. I always have been. Ever since I first met you." He looked over. "I love you, Virge." He smiled and looked back at the road.
He blushed and little and put his hood over his head. Ohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygodohmygod. Is all that played in Virgil's head, over and over. He wanted to yell at him, to hit him, but "Really?" is all that came out. His voice cracked a little as he said it. What the hell am I doing? I hate this guy!
"Of course." Roman let out a long, breathy sigh.
"I'll go to your house." Virgil choked. His eyes went wide. WHAT THE FUCKING HELL DID I JUST DO?! He internally panicked.
Roman smiled and turned up the song playing, I'll Make A Man Out Of You from Mulan. He began singing and tapping his fingers on the steering wheel to the beat.

Roman parked his car and got out. He walked to the front door of his house and unlocked it. "Do you want to give Thomas a call?"
"He's still with his family. He will be until 5." Virgil said, going to sit on the couch.
Roman walked over and sat next to him. "Did you really not know I liked you? I thought I was being quite obvious."
He rolled his eyes. "Last time I saw you was two months ago and I usually forget about you." He smiled at himself. "So no, it wasn't that obvious."
Roman put and arm on the back of the couch behind Virgil. "Do you want to watch something? Cartoons, a movie?"
"Stop trying to make this a date." He rolled his eyes and brought his knees up to his chest.
"Okay well one, you decided to come here, and two, what makes you think I'm trying to make this a date? If you are not comfortable with it, then I won't try anything."
"I'm getting anxious about my car. What if someone breaks in?" Virgil looked straight ahead at the floor.
"I'm sure it's okay, Virge. We can get gas and go pick it up now?" Roman suggested.
Virgil wrapped his arms around his knees and buried his face in them. "No it's... it's fine." He let out a shaky sigh.
Roman hesitantly wrapped his arms around him. "Hey, it's okay. I'm sure it'll be alright. If anything happens to the car-"
"I'm not upset about the car, Princey!" Virgil snapped.
Roman's eyes went wide and he jumped a little at the nickname. Memories came flooding back to him.
     "What ever happened to us?"
Roman snapped out of his thoughts when Virgil spoke. "What do you mean?"
Virgil lifted his head and Roman let go of him. "You know exactly what I mean. Our childhood. We were best friends, and now I hate you."
"I mean... it's understandable why you do..."
Virgil moved and wrapped his arms around Roman. "I'm just glad I get to see you again..."
Roman blushed a little. He smiled and hugged back, planting a kiss on his head. "I, too, am happy to be with you again. I really missed you Virgil." He sighed. "Before two months ago, I hadn't seen you in ten years. When you yelled at me and said you hated me and never wanted me in your life, two months ago, I was broken."
"I was just... angry that you left." Virgil pulled away from the hug. "I was upset that you left me without telling me, and then randomly showing up ten years later as if that'll fix anything."
"It fixed our friendship, hopefully?" Roman smiled sadly at him.
Virgil sighed. "No, Roman, I still hate you." He looked up at him. "A lot."
He looked down. "Right..." he pushed the palms of his hands against his head. "God, this is all my fault!"
Virgil smirked. He moved closer and touched his lips with his own.
Roman jumped at the sudden touch and was in shock. He blinked multiple times, seeing if it was real or not. It was.
Virgil pulled away and chuckled. "God I hate you so much."
"Well I'm about to hate you now!" Roman huffed.
Virgil rolled his eyes and pushed Roman down on the couch and cuddled with him.

REQUESTS ARE OPEN!
