chapter 22

"I don't know, I was the only one home and I heard something in the basement so I went to the steps then saw a man in all black running up them so I ran here as fast as I could" I said

"did he follow you?" Hayes asked

"I looked back about half way but I didn't see him" I said

"I have to go out with my dad and Nash but the other guys will be here, do you wanna stay here?" Hayes asked

"if that's ok" I said

"yeah you're not going back home till one of your brothers are home" Cameron said

"thank you" I said

"alright I'm leaving now. I love you bye" Hayes said and hugged me.

"bye have fun" I said and hugged him.

"alright it's just me and you for now, are you hungry?" Cameron asked

"yes" I said

"let's go to Panera" he said

"one issue" I said

"and that is?" Cameron asked

"I don't have money or shoes" I said

"I'll pay and where the hell are your shoes?" he asked

"I just ran I didn't grab any" I said

"alright well we will go to your house and I'll go in" Cameron said

"are you sure?" I asked

"yeah" he said

we got in his car and drove around the block to my house.

"you stay in here, I'll go in" he said

he got out and went in and I sat on my phone till he came back with flip flops.

we went inside Panera  and got food and sat down and this little girl came up to us.

"Cameron Dallas" she said

"and what's your name?" Cameron

"I'm maddy, I need help" she said

"with what?" he asked

"a man, he stole me help" she said

"what man?" I asked

"hey maddy come on, let's those people eat" he said and grabbed her hand.

"Cameron that the guy, he was in my house" I said realizing it was the guy I ran from.

"no, wrong person" he said

"give me the kid" I said

"SOMEONE CALL 911" Cameron yelled and everyone looked at us like we were crazy.

he ran with the girl and we chased him, Cameron caught up to him and punched him in the face and he fell to the ground.

I grabbed maddy and ran back inside.

"you're safe now" I said and she cried in my arms.

I saw the cops come and arrest the guy and talk to Cameron and then one came inside.

"we'll take her now until we find her parents" he said and went to take her when she gripped onto me

"no I wanna stay with you in scared" she said

"you're more than welcome to come too" the cop said

me and Cameron got in the car With the cop and drove to the police station.

we went inside and the cops had it everywhere saying she was found, can her parents please come to the station.

we sat in there all night.

I finally saw a man and lady come in, they had 3 other kids, another girl, same age, maddys twin, a boy a year or 2 younger and a newborn.

maddy saw them and got up and ran into her sisters arms, it was really cute and sad at the same time.

the mom and dad came over and hugged me and Cameron, "we don't know how to thank you enough" she said

"she's so cute, I'm so sorry it happened to you" I said

"I woke up a year ago and she was just gone, I lost hope" her mom said

"she was gone for a whole year?" I asked

she shook her head yeah and then I saw maddy hug her moms legs and her mom picked her up and cried.

I started crying too.

"thank you so much" her dad said and me and Cameron got in his car that the police had brought to the station for us.

"a whole year" I said

"that's insane, that poor kid she's about 7 and was with a  strange guy for a year, I can't imagine" Cameron said

"it's 3am are you going home or coming to our house?" he asked

"i guess with you" I said

we pulled up to the guys house and went inside and I saw Hayes and Nash awake in the kitchen and Hayes was crying in Nashs arms, who was also crying.

"what's going on?" Cameron asked

"YOURE OKAY" Hayes yelled and hugged Cameron.

"where's Gabriella, is she okay?" Hayes asked

"I'm just fine" I said

he let go of Cameron and hugged me, "where were you guys?" Nash asked

"police station, long story, everything fine, I need sleep so I'll explain tomorrow" Cameron said and went to bed and Nash did too.

I laid on the couch and Hayes laid next to me. I put my head on his chest and he played with my hair.

"Hayes me and Cameron went to lunch  and this little girl recognized us and then started saying some man took her and the guy came and was like mad leave them alone while thy eat and I looked at him and it was the guy that was in my house. we then went to the police station and after a few hours her family showed up and she ran right into her twin sisters arms and her mom and dad started crying on us. she was kidnapped a year ago. it makes so sick to think that her parents looked for their daughter for a whole year and that poor little girl was with a bad guy. I want kids but then times like this make me not want any, it makes me sick, people like this make me sick" I started crying.

Hayes just hugged me, "you can't let the few bad people keep you from seeing all the good." he said

we just laid there taking until I fell asleep, I was exhausted.
