'There was no doubt something was going to go wrong'

she thought as she sat on the king size bed fidgeting with the hem of her dress, absentmindedly listening to the teasing conversation going on between her friends, until the phone call came as Fauza stood up to pick the call, making everyone go quite except for the person on the call.

The call was meant to be for the arrival of the groom, but the expression on her face wasn't pleasing as she ended it asking the kawayen amarya brides maid  to step out of the room.

The bride was left alone as she had nothing to do but to look at the room over and over again, that was the room she would be staying in for her life time

Interrupted by the sound of the door and Khamamat whom was the chief brides maid stepped in with a tearly filled eyes, haleema concluded that the tears was all because Khamamat was starting to miss her after the loving and caring relationship they shared together.

Khamamat was the elder sister she never had which she is greatfull to God for that.

She gave her a warm embrace which haleema returned, receiving a tap on her back to calm her down but, she never knew what it meant.

she couldn't find any tears in her eyes and cursed it for becoming numb. Khamamat quickly retrieved from the hug giving her a false smile before speaking.

"you have to step outside, everyone is waiting in the sitting room" she said squeezing her friend's hand gently, she wanted to speak but, the words remain unspoken as she slipped into her golden flats, holding Khamamat's hand, while she showed her out of the room.

Everywhere was dead silent that one could think it was a burial ground, only hearing continuous whispers of "inalillahi wainnailaihirajiun. from Allah we are and to him we shall return"

The grooms best man was holding her supposed groom lying lifelessly on the floor, she stood still for a while unable to move, with Khamamat's hand tapping her continuously on her back, trying to be strong for her friend as she pushed her tears back.

It was too bitter and too painful as a gush of blood pass down through her veins, every fibre in her body weak and in pain, unable to believe what she was seeing, she blinked her eyes multiple times with full force. The words moving in slow and painful sink, her lungs getting suffocated with the contaminated air around her. Everyone in the room turned their attention towards her, what she hated was the pitiful look held in their eyes as some couldn't look at her much, with pity in their gaze dropping it down almost immediately.

The sound of her ragged heartbeat clearing her doubt that she was still breathing, the recent days has etched pains in her consciousness, one that burns with intensity that words could barely define. As seconds passed, she lost count of it, she could pin point the amount of time she wasted staring, as if she was being knocked out of the world entirely. The moment she felt a bunch of pain hit the right surface in her heart, she felt an electric force bringing her back to reality.

Yanking away her hand from Khamamat's grip, she walked towards the dead being with heavy steps unable to blink, her eyes were devoid of tears as she knelt down near her husband muttering "inalillahi wainnailaihirajiun"

Words alone couldn't define how she felt thorn apart, seeing him lifelessly before her. the worst moment of her life, here it comes, with dried eyes having no moist in them. The next thing that shocked her was when everyone in the room started laughing including the supposed dead being, and that was when a lone tear excaped her right eye.
