"Ok"

"He's asleep, by the way" Rory said.

Rory put Nicky back in bed before she and Logan got into bed.

A few hours later Logan was woken up by Nicky coming into the room.

"What's wrong, buddy?" Logan whispered

Nicky grabbed Logan's arm with both hands

"Alright" Logan said quietly "come here" he lifted Nicky up and put him in the bed, between him and Rory.

The next day Logan stayed home with a sick Nicky, and Rory went to work. Logan took Nicky to the doctor in the morning and then they spent the afternoon at home.

Logan was sitting at the kitchen island, working and Nicky was laying on the couch.

"Daddy!" Nicky called

Logan walked into the living room and sat on the edge of the couch, next to Nicky "what's wrong?"

Nicky sat up and wrapped his arms around Logan's neck.

"Ok" Logan stood up, picking up Nicky "you wanna come sit with me while I work?"

Nicky nodded "where's fifi?"

"On your bed" Logan said "I'll go get him for you"

A little later Logan was sitting at the island, working and Nicky was sitting next to him, with a puzzle when the house phone rang.

Logan got up and answered the phone

"Hello?"

"Logan?" Lorelai asked through the phone

"Lorelai?"

"I was just calling to leave you guys a message about dinner on Friday" Lorelai said "I didn't think you'd be home"

"Nicky's sick so I'm home with him" Logan told her

"Aww, is he ok?"

"He's fine, just super cranky and really clingy"

"Yeah, kids get clingy when they're sick"Lorelai said "alright, I'll let you go, I just wanted to tell you that dinner's at the inn this week"

"Ok"

"Tell Nicky grandma said feel better"

"Will do"

"Bye"

2 weeks later Rory and Logan were in Dr Willams' office.

"How long will it take?" Rory said

"Egg retrieval usually takes about 15 minutes" Dr Williams said "quick and painless"

"Painless for real?"

"Painless for real" Dr Williams nodded "if you're feeling pain that means something might be wrong, and I'll stop"

"Ok" Rory exhaled, and Logan rubbed her shoulder.

The doctor explained the procedure again and 20 minutes later they were done.

"Now we just have to hope that it works" Rory sighed

"It'll work" Logan said

"So you're psychic now?" Rory asked sarcastically

"Put your pants on" Logan chuckled

Later that day, they were home and Rory was laying on the couch.

Logan walked into the living room with a glass of water and aspirin for Rory.

"How do you feel?" Logan asked

"Dead" Rory groaned

"Stomach hurts?"

"I know she said it might, but I was hoping it wouldn't"

"I know" Logan said and handed her the water and aspirin.

"But hopefully in 4 weeks, I'll be pregnant and it'll be worth it"

"I'm more nervous than I thought I'd be" Logan admitted

"Me too"

"Whatever happens, it'll be fine" Logan said "and we can always try again"

"Yeah"
