Crawling out from the bush, the young boy stared at the woman in front of him who wore a blindfold. 'Whoa...' He was mesmerized by the woman who held some kind of mysterious feeling around her. 'Who is this woman?'

"Who are you? Do you know where you are?" Lin Ning spoke up, not knowing what kind of motive they had in mind. 'From other novels, when I read that there is more than one person who travels back then, they either have the motive to become your ally or your enemy.' Lin Ning kept her guard against the figure, not knowing how old they were since she could not see them but could only sense their emotions.

"U-Um, my name is . Who are you?" Standing on his two feet, he stood red-faced while looking at her.

She could tell that they were no older than ten years old, listening more closely to the young voice. 'A young child?' Taking a step closer to the child, she continued to face them. "How did you get here? Do you know that this is the Zhao State's border?" Lin Ning decided to see if they might give something away to help her figure out if they knew where they exactly were.

"Zhao State? I do not even know where I was before I came here. I was just a biomedical engineer before I found myself here in a child's body!" Chun Yunchen started to complain while holding out his poorly-conditioned clothes.

"Did you say a biomedical engineer?" Lin Ning could not believe that a person from the modern world appeared in a child's body, but they also could help her with something that could make things easier for Cao Peizhi.

"Hm? Do you know what a biomedical engineer is here? Strange, there has been no one else here who knows what the h*ll I've been talking about."

"..." Lin Ning knew that the both of them had to keep things a secret from everyone else who would not understand what they were talking about. "I came from the modern world, just like you. It would be best not to reveal anything about the modern world to anyone since they would think we are crazy here. It can even lead to death if you are too smart as well. Keep that in mind here." Lin Ning decided to give him a word of advice.

"Whoa, whoa. So you are saying that we both somehow managed to travel back into time to the past or something?" was feeling more lost, and he was starting to think that Lin Ning was the crazy one here.

"Something like that, but I died in my previous life, so I am a reincarnator. You... a transmigrator." Lin Ning had to be sure to word it right since she had heard himself talk before that he only took a nap. 'Someone who did not die in their previous life means that they are likely still alive there while just temporarily being here, but this is only my guess.'

"You are talking like one of those edgy novels that girls like to talk about all the time where they end up going back to the past and finding love out of the blue from the past men. That's lame." sat down on his bottom and crossed his arms over his chest.

'You are basically calling me lame then.' Keeping those words to herself, she wished that she could just smack this boy on the head. "You can believe me or not, but do you know anything about making a movable prosthetic limb?" Lin Ning went straight to the chase, hoping that this was not some kind of dream for her.

"As a certified Biomedical Engineer, I am in all departments of working on any limbs that you are asking for. I just need to have the materials to make them all."

"Then you c-"

"AAAAHHH!!!!"

Lin Ning was cut off by screaming, feeling a gust of wind that passed by her with Mei Mei barking. "Argh! Argh!"

Lin Ning held a smile, knowing who it was that came to bother their conversation. "Peizhi, you do not need to get protective. They did not do anything to harm me." Lin Ning could sense Cao Peizhi, wary of the unknown figure there at the Zhao Border. 'He is going to kill the biomedical engineer before I can even get what I want.'

"We do not know who this person is. They came into the border unannounced, and he could be a spy." Cao Peizhi held a deadly gaze towards the young boy who was in the same place as his lover.

had fainted after seeing his gaze falling flat on his back. "You do not need to worry about him. I need his help with something. He told me something that could help me with the prosthetic limb. I need his help more than anything right now." Lin Ning went over to Cao Peizhi, laying her hand onto his right hand that held his sword at hand. Slowly pushing his hand down, she knew that he could not say 'no' to her.

"Can we really trust this boy?" Cao Peizhi could see that they wore ragged clothes with dirt all over them.

"Don't worry. I know that they won't harm me because you will be there. I also doubt that he can properly fight back." Lin Ning had to ensure Cao Peizhi that Chun Yunchen was not an enemy or spy. Mei Mei went over to the boy, sniffing to see that he was still unconscious.

"So our daughter is safe. That is good." Viscount Lin had let out a sigh of relief with his wife by his side. "I would have never thought that we would be under attack and even labeled as enemies now." Viscount Lin did not think that the emperor and empress would label them unfairly.

"Husband, we do not need to worry about being targeted, though. The Crown Prince and his people protect us. Ning'er is also with them, so she is well protected." His wife tried to encourage him not to worry about his status or title since they only needed their family together.

"I know, but I still feel like Lin Ning is going to be in a lot of mess. I worry that something is going to happen." Viscount Lin could not shake off this unsettling feeling in his chest.

"If you wish, then I can send a message over to them." Duan Fa knew that they were worried about Lin Ning since they had not seen her in almost a month.

"Are you sure? My wife and I can never be thankful enough for you. You've saved us throughout everything that has happened."

"You don't need to be thankful. I am just doing my duty to protect you both like the young miss asked me to. If you wish for me to pass a message, then I will. I will go over to the border when you finish up." Duan Fa had been given a letter from the both of them; he was just about to set when came into view. "Lian? What are you doing out here? You should be staying inside and remain warm." Duan Fa went over to her, seeing her holding a letter in her hand.

"This is for my sister. I want you to pass this message to her and..." Hun Lian had paused.

"and..." Duan Fa wanted her to continue what she wanted to say.

"Be sure to come back unharmed. I am not a physician like my sister, so... don't get hurt." Hun Lian told him.

Duan Fa held a smile, taking the letter into his hands. "I will be sure to come back to your side after I pass along these messages. Take care of master and madam while I am away, okay?"

Hun Lian nodded her head, watching him leave in the distance while praying inside that he would come back unharmed throughout the trip.
