Lin Ning and Xia Ling had woken up early to get out of the cave; both had started walking out into the forest to see if they were able to come across at least a town or village that could be close to the border. "Young miss, it seems as though the wolf is still following us." Xia Ling had noticed that the wolf was still following after them ever since they left the cave.

Lin Ning knew that the wolf had been following them, but she figured it must have taken an interest in them. "Leave it be. We are not here to cause harm to it." Lin Ning knew that they did not have time to mess with a wolf, but she would clearly allow it to follow them from behind. 'Will it be able to catch up with us?' She questioned, looking at the wolf who was limping back.

"I believe I see a house." Xia Ling could see an old farmhouse with a man working around it. "Young miss, let me see if we can stay here." Xia Ling had Lin Ning remain where she was—completely forgetting that the wolf was still following them, leaving Lin Ning on her own.

She could hear the footsteps from Xia Ling getting further and further away from her. Sitting down, she could only wait and see what happened.

*Whine*

Hearing a whine next to her, she turned to face the wolf that had gotten closer to her when she was not paying attention. "Hm, I guess you don't have another pack that you can go with, huh?" Keeping her hands close, she did not want to hurry along and start to pet the wolf. "Did you want to join me instead?" Smiling towards the wolf, it was apparent that the wolf took a chance to get much closer to Lin Ning. Feeling a nudge at her shoulder, she could not help but feel her heart soften up from the sudden nudge. "I'm taking that as a 'yes' from you." Lightly placing her hand in front of the wolf, it took a sniff to know her scent. 'A gorgeous creature and one of man's best friends. If only I had the eyes to see how they looked like.'

"Young miss!!!" Xia Ling was shocked and ran over to the wolf that ran to give them some distance. Growling at Xia Ling, the wolf was baring its teeth towards her.

"Ling, do not worry." Lin Ning held Xia Ling's forearm, knowing that both were kind of just cautious between one another at this time. "The wolf has no intention of attacking me. Rather, they wish to join me, and I am not going to let them be left alone." Lin Ning opened her eyes, seeing the wolf with a yellow color, feeling caution from Xia Ling. "Do you wish to come with us?" The wolf had stopped growling, looking to Lin Ning, who showed no fear and no ill intentions of hurting her. She felt a nudge hit her forearm wrapped around on top of her knees when she was kneeling. It was quite clear for Lin Ning that the wolf indeed had agreed on joining them. "Alright, Ling." Lin Ning got up, facing Xia Ling, staring at her young miss, who accepted this wolf to join them. "What did they say?" Lin Ning decided to let Xia Ling get back to the main focus.

"Oh... he allowed us to come and join his wife. They do not mind." Xia Ling was going to help Lin Ning to go over to the little farmhouse when the wolf growled towards her as if warning her to stop getting closer. 'Is this wolf picking a fight with me?!' Xia Ling and the wolf were staring daggers at one another.

'Oh my, isn't this just lovely?' Lin Ning could not help but giggle a little to see how things were starting to get more lively. "Okay, let's hurry along and make sure that we are not making the couple continue to wait." Lin Ning had to walk between the two with the wolf on one of her sides while Xia Ling was on the other side. Both wolf and human continued to stare daggers at one another since their young miss was Lin Ning.

"Wolf!!" Hearing an elderly woman say, Lin Ning forgot that wolves were not really seen as the pet type to keep around during this era.

"Where?!?!?" Hearing an elderly man say after, she could hear a loud thud as if a body had fallen from such shock.

"Please do not be worried. The wolf will not harm any of you." Lin Ning wanted the couple to be assured that the wolf was not going to attack them in any way.

Xia Ling did not tell them that there was a wolf included, but she did not even think that a wolf would join along. "I-I apologize for not telling you about this wolf." Xia Ling had to apologize since it was her fault for only saying that there was another person and her when there was now a wolf.

"J-Just a little shocked is all." The old man did not think that he would ever see a wolf in his entire life. Seeing the wolf appear in front of him was quite the thing to see since no one would ever want wolves as pets. "Not only that, but the wolf has white fur that you do not ever see so often." The old man constantly blinked to ensure that he did not see incorrectly.

"Is that so?" Lin Ning lightly petted the wolf on the head; it was not hard to reach it since it was about a bit past her waist. "I do not care what color their fur is. This wolf is one of my own, and I will not take it for granted. I will have to thank you both ahead of time for being able to take us both in." Lin Ning bowed to the couple while the old man refused to let her bow.

"No need for this. My wife and I live on this farm alone, so it is not hard to take care of you all. Please join us for dinner." The old man looked to the three guests with his wife holding a smile to accept them.

A/N: I've decided to publish here again since it seems as though the other website doesn't have translation for them. So this novel will be a little behind on here since I am still currently busy with my stressful reality.
