"Freed are you alright?" I asked him.

Freed tensed before he turned to me and nervously answered, "Yes of course."

"Would you guys like anything to drink?" Freed asked standing up rather suddenly.

"Tea please," Ever smiled.

"Beer," Laxus responded.

"I second that!" Bicks agreed.

Freed turned to me.

"I'm good Freed, I don't need anything," I told him glancing at him worriedly.

"I'll get you some water then," Freed responded leaving quickly.

I stared after him as worry grew in my chest.

The last few days Freed's been acting really weird. He's been rather tense around me, and I get the feeling he's avoiding me about something and I'm starting to get really worried.

"Hey Ever?"

"Hmm?" Ever hummed turning to me.

"Do you think Freed's been acting weird?" I asked her.

Ever blinked turning to watch Freed at the bar.

"He seems fine to me, although he was rather sudden asking for our drinks... Maybe he's just been staring at that book for too long. Either way I'm sure he's fine," she smiled.

"If you say so," I muttered.

***Timeskip***

Freed was in the shower as I sat downstairs quietly reading. Or attempting to read at least. I've mostly just been sitting here for several minutes wondering what's been going on with Freed.

'Maybe he's just been staring at that book for too long.'

Nodding my head, I closed my book and set it aside before I climbed up the stairs and quietly entered the library. The normally organized library was a bit disheveled and messier than usual.

"Maybe Ever was right, Freed's usually so organized. I should take him somewhere to relax for all the trouble," I muttered glancing around.

I spotted the journal at his desk and walked over to it. Looking next to the journal however, I noticed a sheet of notes in Freed's handwriting.

"Hmm? What's this?" I questioned picking it up and reading it.

***Timeskip*** ***Third-person p.o.v***

Freed exited the door of their bedroom to find the door to the library ajar. Freed walked in, knowing he had closed the door when he left, to see Rachel standing there, leaning over his desk.

Freed gasped at the sight of her, "Rachel what are you doing in-?"

"Freed," Rachel spoke quietly, forcing her voice not to tremble.

"What is this?" Rachel spoke, gesturing to the translation notes on the desk in front of her.

"Why are you looking at that?" Freed darkened, his voice going harsh.

"What is it Freed?" Rachel continued, trying to remain calm.

"Why are you looking through my private things?" Freed demanded, anger quickly growing in his words.

If he wanted to be angry, then so could she.

"Why were you hiding this from me!" Rachel yelled, whipping around to face him.

"It's none of your business," Freed growled, walking over and snatching away the notes from his desk.

Freed turned to walk away but Rachel grabbed his wrist, yelling back at him, "It becomes my business when it involves me, so don't you dare walk away from me!"

"That doesn't give you the right to look through my stuff!" Freed yelled back, throwing her hand off his wrist.

"I'm sorry I was worried about you because I trusted you!" Rachel yelled back.

"Trust?! You want to talk about trust?! After you snooped through my things without my permission?!" Freed roared.

"It's my book!" Rachel yelled back.

"But I am the one deciphering it! Which means it's meant for me to know and you to know only when I allow it!" Freed roared.

"So you're going to control my life like you do with everything else?! Is that why you didn't tell me Valenzula was my grandfather!" Rachel roared.

"You can't handle that truth! You're not strong enough to ever be able to handle it!" Freed yelled.

"You are the one who told me I was strong in the first place and now you're saying I'm weak?! I thought you were my friend! I thought you were more than that! I thought I could trust you! But you're nothing more than a liar and a demon!"

"Enough!"

At first, neither of them registered what had happened, but the burning sensation on Rachel's now red cheek and Freed's hand still in the air made it obvious what did happen.

And all the anger between the two vanished in an instant.

Freed stared at her with wide eyes as Rachel placed her hand on her now burning cheek only to retract it in pain.

Freed opened his mouth to say something, but Rachel took a step back. And another. And another before tears started to flow down her cheeks.

"You really are Freed the dark," Rachel muttered, tears flowing down her cheeks before she turned and ran, down the stairs, and out the door as it slammed behind her.

Freed stood there in shock before he cried out in anger as he slammed his fist into the wall. Books fell from their shelves at the sheer force as the wall cracked beneath Freed's now bloodied fist.

"Damn it," Freed muttered as he crumbled to the floor.

"Just- damn it," Freed muttered as tears fell down his face.

Rachel ran and ran as tears flew down her cheeks. Prism flew by her side as Rachel ran further and further away from Magnolia.

Further away from her so-called home.

Further away from her so-called friends.

And further away from the life she once had as her cries echoed through the darkening sky.
