Chapter 80 - Repairing What's Broken

Start from the beginning

It was almost as if, she didn't even notice her.

The others begged her to stop and talk to us, but it was like she couldn't hear us.

She just kept attacking Prism.

Not even when the dark guild members tried to stop her did her attacks waiver. She just blasted them out of the way and kept going.

"Well, this is an interesting turn of events. Tenebrousa! Finish her!" Kaiser shouted as his magic surged making Prism screech in pain.

Rachel screamed as well before she muttered, "I can- I can still hear you!"

"What's going on?" Ever questioned worriedly as the two fought.

I gazed at Rachel and Prism worriedly as the two friends endlessly attacked one another.

"This is wrong," Laxus muttered.

"Maybe not," Bickslow muttered as we turned to him.

"What?" Evergreen questioned, upset he would say such a thing.

"Rachel's magic, it's actually damaging the dark energy. She only damages a bit before it repairs itself, but I can see it. Prism's soul, Rachel's right, it's still in there!" Bickslow explained.

We widened our eyes.

"Then Rachel is trying to rescue Prism!" Lucy exclaimed happily.

"But then why isn't she answering us or telling us her plan so we can help her?" Levy questioned.

"I think I can answer that too," Bickslow spoke up. "Think of Prism and Rachel's severed souls like magnets. They are automatically drawn together to make themselves whole again if they are ever split apart. I think Prism's soul called out to Rachel's and the two souls are trying to repair themselves. Porlyusica said Rachel surge in magic would be too much for her and I think that's still true. The urge of their souls to repair themselves and the surge in Rachel's magic energy are both drowning out Rachel's consciousness. Basically, right now Rachel's body is moving on its own and is mindlessly trying to reconnect her and Prism's souls," Bickslow explained.

"But if Rachel's acting mindlessly and only her attacks are damaging that dark energy around Prism's soul, how can we fix them?" Elfman asked.

"We can't, but Freed can," Bickslow smiled.

"What? How can I do anything?" I questioned.

"Look," Bickslow pointed.

He pointed at Rachel as we all gave him a look of confusion.

"Haven't you noticed what she's wearing?" Bickslow muttered.

We gasped in realization.

"The bandages," Ever muttered.

"Exactly, I think there's a part of her that still conscious enough to think somewhat straight that's why she grabbed the bandages. She knows those bandages help her control her surging magic," Bickslow explained.

"I still don't get how this involves me though," I questioned.

"You're going to be the one that tells her our plan. If she's going to listen to anyone in this state it would be you," Bickslow stated seriously.

***Timeskip***

Rachel skidded back once more as she panted and stared back at Prism.

I stood in position nearby as I gave Warren the signal.

"Here's the plan, Freed is going to communicate to Rachel through her mind via Warren. Freed you're going to tell her to release as much magic energy as she can to destroy the dark energy away from Prism's soul. The rest of us will cover her and keep Kaiser back. Once Rachel frees Prism's soul, I'll use my magic to repair them back together again. Now let's go save them!"
