Chapter 12,

The crowning of a new reign

___________________________________________________________________________

Within the next year, all was back to the way it was before. As Spring ran around the bend and the flowers were all in bloom, we could see that Nottingham was back to the way it once was before the tyrant rein of Prince John. And playing on his lute was Alan O'Dale, right up in his tree looking over the entire city.

Yes my darlings never did I think I'd live to see the day, but it happened. Nottingham was back on it's feet. Our evil baddies got exactly what they deserved. That nasty ex-prince and his handbag were exiled from the kingdom, vowing to never return to the Kingdom again.

The sheriff working alongside the imprisoned war-slaves, forcing to the boilers in washing the clothes, shoveling the horse shit, and in the cold winters, forced to sleep in the stables with only a torn blanket to keep himself warm. A few fingers and toes lost, maybe all feeling of touch but he still lives (but we'll see just how long he can last).

As for our fellow heroes well—

The sound of the castle bells rang as Alan perked up and saw the crowd all gathered around the nearby castle.

Oh well seems like we've got ourselves a knighting going on. Come on follow me! He hopped off the tree and took off running towards the castle which was starting to overcrowd with people.

Inside the throne room, King Richard stood alongside Prince James, Arthur, and Maid Marian. Kneeling down before them were Robin and Gale's Merry Men, Little John, Gilbert, David and Kit. King Richard held his mighty sword and first came up to Kit and knighted him.

"For your bravery and skill in cunning. I dub thee Sir Kit of Elderslie. Knight of England." Marian then came up and presented him with the medal of the English knights. Showing proof that even as a Scotsman, he was worthy to serve under the King of England's army. Up next was David.

Richard knighted David and said.

"For your skill of diplomacy and strategy. I dub thee Sir David of Doncaster. Diplomat of England. Studying under the tutelage of Sir Arthur. We place England's laws in your hands." Arthur came up and presented David with a medal of the Diplomats. The two of them shook hands and Arthur whispered.

"Looking forward to teaching you all I know David."

"Likewise." David nodded. Finally King Richard stood before Gilbert. Robin and Gale's right hand man.

"For your skill in fighting and commanding orders as well as taking them. I dub thee Sir Gilbert of Birkenhead. General of England's army. May you lead us into many victories when we are called upon." It was then Prince James came forward and presented Gilbert with a newly made sword made for a General.

The blade was pure steel, so reflective that you could see your own reflection. The handle was pure gold with a lion's head at the very end. But what was really special about this blade was the inscription on the blade. It read:

Whosoever wields this sword, shall have the power of the Lionhearts. The blade is your teeth, the guard your claws.

On the other side it continued:
