It was New Year's Eve and Taylor and I have nothing to do. His family was out of town visiting some of his other family members and my family is on vacation, so we just decided to stay home together for the day.

"Ebs just texted me about some party that he's having tonight. Do you want to go?" He asks me.

"I'm not really in the mood for partying. Do you mind if we just stay home?" I ask him. It wasn't that I wasn't in the mood for partying, it was because I don't ever really get along with Taylor's friends. I mean, they're nice and all, but it was just hard to keep conversation going because all we had in common was Taylor.

"If you want to, we can. I just thought it would be fun." He says, disappointed in my answer. I feel bad for lying to him, but what else am I supposed to do?

I walk over to where he is on the couch and sit next to him. I lean my head on his shoulder and wrap my arms around him.

"I'm sorry, Taylor. It's just that I never have anyone to talk to at the parties that your teammates have." I say as I put my chin on his shoulder and look up at him.

"Why didn't you ever tell me?" He asked and looked at me.

"I don't know. I just feel weird telling you." I admit.

"You don't have to feel weird telling me anything. Ever." He says before lightly kissing me on the forehead.

"Okay. Well then, should we go?" I ask him. He looks at me surprised.

"You want to go to the party?" He asks me. I nod my head and he smiles.

We both get ready and arrive at the party. Taylor introduces me to some people and I begin a conversation with one of his family friends that's around my age. After awhile he leaves us and finds his friends.

Time passes by quickly, and soon its just about five minutes before midnight. I start looking for Taylor, wanting to be with him when the clock strikes twelve.

I search throughout the big house for him, but I have yet to find him. Time is ticking and its only seconds until midnight. There are tons of people in the house, so I eventually give up. I find a TV to watch, waiting for the countdown to end.

"3...2...1..." The TV announcer says.

All of the sudden, two hands grab my waist and turn me around. Then, leaning me back, someone kisses me. Once his lips touch mine, I knew immediately that it was Taylor.

Everyone screams, bringing in the new year and Taylor pulls away after a few seconds.

"Happy New Year, (Y/N)." He says as he keeps his arms wrapped around me.

"Happy New Year, Taylor." I say before kissing him again.
