"Stop!" Chase yelled, tossing and turning next to me. I wake up abruptly and turn over to him, gently trying to wake him. He's having a nightmare.

"Chase, wake up." I say, just loud enough for him to hear me. He continues to toss and turn while cries escape from his lips.

"Chase, I'm here. Please, wake up." I say more loudly as I see tears slip from his eyes.

I can't stand seeing him like this. I place my lips on his forehead, then his cheek, trying anything to wake him up.

It works, because his eyes open and they search to find me. Once they do, I see his face relax.

"(Y/N), oh my gosh." He says and engulfs me into a giant hug.

"I'm here, I'm here." I comfort him. I begin to move my hand up and down his back as he sobs into my neck.

"If you want to talk about it, we can. If you don't, that's fine too." I offer, hoping for at least an answer. He nods his head and I wait a few minutes for him to begin telling me about his nightmare.

"Y-You left me. I thought I had lost you f-forever." He stutters.

"But I didn't, Chase. I'm here and I'm not going anywhere." I try to comfort him.

"I know. It's just that I've been having the same dream every night for the past week since our road trip started. Now that I'm finally home with you, I thought they would stop, but I guess they didn't." He pulls away and I place a gentle kiss on his forehead.

"Why didn't you call me when you were having these nightmares?" I ask him and lightly rub my thumb up and down his cheek.

"I didn't want to bother you." He says.

"You could never bother me, Chase. Especially when it's something like this." I say and I still see the distress in his eyes.

It really surprises me that he is hesitant to call me, especially since we've been dating for about two years now.

"How could I help these nightmares go away?" I ask, hoping for an answer.

He looks in my eyes, as if in deep thought. Maybe I could possibly help these bad dreams disappear.

"M-Marry me." He says and my eyes go wide.

He is always so spontaneous, but this was definitely one that I couldn't have called. His tear stained cheeks melt my heart, his red and irritated eyes taking away from his beautiful brown eyes.

I guess I have been thinking for awhile, because Chase speaks up.

"I am so sorry, that was such a sucky proposal. Just ignore me, I don't-" I cut him off.

"Yes."

"What?" He asks, obvious surprise in his face and voice.

"I would be honored to marry you." I reply and place a kiss on his lips.

He is so shocked at my answer that he doesn't kiss me back.

"Should I have answered differently?" I ask him, but he shakes his head.

"No, definitely not." He says and replies by placing his lips onto mine.

Chase never had the same nightmare again.
