"I miss you so much, (Y/N)." My boyfriend of almost two years, Connor, tells me over the phone.

"I miss you too. This never gets any easier does it?" I ask and lay down on the couch in my apartment.

"No, it doesn't. I have no time off to come and visit you for our anniversary and I am so sorry. I will make it up to you, I promise." He says and I frown.

"Connor, it's perfectly fine. I understand, you can't miss any games." I console him, tears threatening to pour out of my eyes.

He says nothing for a couple minutes, most likely upset with himself.

"Okay, I gotta do some of my homework now. Call me when you can?" I say, trying to get off the phone before I full out sob.

"Okay, I love you." He tells me and it worsens my condition.

"I love you too." I say and immediately hang up the phone.

The tears stream down my face and I put my face in my hands. The night goes on and I lay in bed thinking about everything. Suddenly, an idea comes over me.

*two weeks later*

I get off of the plane, getting ready to go see my boyfriend for the first time in months for our two year anniversary. I decide to text him to see where I can surprise him.

(Y/N): "What are you up to?" I send the text message and within a minute he responds.

Connor: "I'm just watching TV, not really doing anything. What about you?" He responds and I choose not to text him back, not having an excuse to say. I hop in a taxi and tell him Connor's address. I arrive and look up at the apartment complex. He's going to be so surprised.

I use the elevator and make it up to his floor. I knock on his door and wait a few minutes before it opens.

"(Y/N)?" He asks and we both smile. I wrap my arms around his neck and he holds me, tears filling both of our eyes from our distance away from each other for so long.

"I missed you so much, I just had to come and see you." I say and we pull away. He puts both his hands on either side of my face and pulls me in to kiss me.

"I love that you surprised me." He says and carries in my suitcase and puts it in his room. I smile and he hugs me once again.

"Let's go to dinner. After all, it is our anniversary." He suggests and smiles. "Oh, I almost forgot!" He says and goes to retrieve something from his room.

"Here, I was going to ship it to you, but since you're here I'll give it to you now." He says and hands me a large box.

We both sit on the couch and I open the box. I gasp as I see a photo album with a picture of us on the cover. It says "Two Years of (Y/N)". I open it and see pictures of us together throughout the two years we have been together. Tears stream down my face as I read the last page. He has written a small note:

"(Y/N), these past two years have changed my life greatly, with your presence in my life being the greatest thing to ever happen to me. I can't wait to see what these future years have to come, but I am extremely excited to see how they play out. All I know is that you will be in them, and that I will love you every single day of every single year that I am alive. I love you so much. Happy Anniversary, (Y/N)."

Connor slings his arm around my shoulder, comforting me. I close the photo album and set it on the coffee table. I wrap my arms around him and he hugs me back tightly.

"Thank you so much." I say and he laughs.

"It's just a photo album, no big deal." He confesses.

"Not just for that, but for being the best boyfriend a girl could ever have."

He kiss my cheek and continues to hug me, knowing that I'm still crying from his sweet gesture.

"I was so caught up in planning my trip here that I forgot to get you something." I confess and we both laugh.

"It's fine, just having you here is so much more than I could have asked for."
