I wake up to an empty bed, Matt is no where to be found. I look over at the clock and notice a note laying beside it.

"(Y/N),

Come downstairs for the first surprise of the day.

-Matt"

I squeal in excitement at his display of affection towards me on this special day. Putting on a sweatshirt, I run down the stairs in search for Matt.

I see him in the kitchen, putting breakfast onto a plate. When he sees me, he immediately sets down the plate and walks towards me.

"Happy anniversary, (Y/N)!" I run into his arms and he picks me up off the ground as I place several kisses on his face.

"Happy anniversary." I smile at him as he bends down to place my feet back on the floor. Before he leans back up, I place my lips onto his, giving him a quick kiss.

He places our breakfast on the table and I thank him for the first surprise, and then I question him on the rest of the day.

"I can't tell you, otherwise it won't be a surprise." He taunts me and I groan, wanting to know what the rest of our days holds.

When Matt surprises me with things, he picks out something to do, or a restaurant to eat at, or he'll buy me a gift. In the past, I've lectured him multiple times to explain that a simple night in the house would be a perfect way to spend time together, but he always insists on spending some amount of money on me.

After we finish eating, I get ready for the day and change into a pair of jeans and a sweater.

Matt leads me outside and into the car so he can drive us both to the mystery place that he has planned for us.

"Can't you please just tell me where we're going?" I beg him.

"I can't tell you, but I'll give you a hint: we have both been to this place before."

"Well that helps a lot." I scoff sarcastically.

"I think it's cute when you get frustrated at the smallest things." He smiles and reaches over to take my hand into his.

We arrive at the place he refused to tell me about, and I automatically recognize the building.

"We're going to the movies?" I ask him excitedly.

"Yeah, and we'll relive our first date." He smiles at me.

"Aw, Matt." I kiss him before we get out of the car. "I can't believe you thought of this all by yourself." I laugh.

"I am capable of thought, you know." He tells me sarcastically.

I laugh. "Well it was really sweet of you. I love this idea." I lean up and kiss him on the cheek and he pulls me into his side.

We purchase our movie tickets and find seats in the theater.

After the movie, Matt tells me that for the rest of the night we're going to stay inside and we can do whatever I would like to do.

We change into our pajamas and do the most ridiculous things. We play board games, attempt to make dinner from scratch, then attempt to bake a cake, in which all our food turns out to be a giant disaster.

"Wanna just order a pizza?" I ask Matt.

"I think that would be a good decision at this point." He says, looking around at the food scattered all over the kitchen.

We both laugh and lay on the couch, his arm wrapped around my shoulder and my head on his chest. The TV plays softly, its sound muffled by the noise of Matt's beating heart.

"For our first, real anniversary... This was the best day ever." I tell him. "Thank you for everything, and thank you for being in my life."

He looks down at me. "You are my everything and you're my life... My past, my present, and my future. No one will change that." He kisses my forehead, his lips lingering there.

"I love you so much."
