Brayden and I have been friends for about two years, each of us becoming closer and closer with every day that passes. There is one thing, though, that Brayden doesn't know.

I'm starting to have feelings for him. I can't believe that I have a major crush on my best friend. I really want to tell him, but I'm afraid that it will ruin our relationship if he doesn't feel the same way.

Brayden is picking me up to go to practice and go out for lunch later. I haven't gotten to spend any time with him because of his busy schedule, so it will be nice to see him. I just hope I don't make my feelings for him noticeable.

I see his car pull up in front of my house and I head out, excited to see what the day holds.

"Hey!" I greet Brayden while getting into the passenger seat. I close the door and put on my seatbelt.

"You ready?" He asks and places his hand over my thigh. My pulse quickens under his touch, and I look to see Brayden smiling brightly at me. I show a weak, nervous smile as he puts the car into drive.

As soon as we begin driving down the street, he starts to rub his thumb along the side of my thigh. I thought my pulse was at its maximum, but to my surprise it quickens and I feel faint under his touch.

We arrive at the arena after a grueling car ride. He turns off the car and hops out, running around to my door. He opens it for me and places a hand out for me to take it.

I place my hand into his and step out of the car.

"You excited for practice?" He asks me, only inches from my face.

"Yes." I breathe out. He makes me so nervous, I don't know how I can handle this for the rest of the day.

We head into the arena, Brayden goes into the locker room and I find a good seat to watch from.

Practice goes well, but from time to time I feel Brayden's eyes on me. I begin to think it's all in my head, but my thoughts are proven wrong as he skates over to me.

"Alright, I haven't been totally honest with you." He confesses. What?

I look at him intently, waiting for him to continue.

"I know that you have a massive crush on me." He tells me. My face drains all the color from it and I feel like I may pass out at any given moment. "I also want to tell you that I feel the exact same way, but I just didn't know how to tell you." My eyes widen at his words.

"Say something." He pleads with despair in his eyes.

"I-I don't know what to say." I say and place my face into my hands.

"Hey, look at me." He pushes my hands away from my face and tilts my chin upward. Neither of us say a word, but I know what this moment leads to.

Brayden draws closer to my face, frustratingly slow, but before I know it, his lips are on mine. Lost in the moment, I melt into him. His tongue swipes over my bottom lip, and I immediately allow him entrance.

He grabs my waist, pulling me into him. A few more seconds later, whistles fill the arena. We pull away, Brayden looking behind him at his teammates.

"Aw, you guys are adorable!" Someone says, obviously trying to embarrass us. Both our faces turn red and Brayden looks back at me.

"Gotta get back to practice now, babe." He says and flashes me a smile.

After practice is over, he skates over to get me.

"All done." He tells me and pecks me on the cheek.

"Get a room!" Another one of his teammates screams. We both laugh and he takes my hand to lead me into the locker room.

"Excuse me, everyone." Brayden announces loudly. I try to back away from him by letting go of his hand to let him make the announcement, but he grasps onto my hand tightly. "I have something to ask (Y/N)!" He continues to announce loudly and my face turns red for what feels like the tenth time today.

He turns to face me, taking both my hands into his. "Would you please, please be my girlfriend?"

"I would love too, Brayden."

He flashes his beautiful smile at me, making me melt once again. I can't wait to spend every minute with him as my boyfriend.
