The summer breeze blows through my hair as Joffrey and I walk through the park on a warm, sunny Saturday afternoon. A small playground is occupied by about a dozen children, their laughter filling the air.

"He looks like he's having fun." Joffrey laughs as a little boy runs across the sidewalk with a worm in his right hand.

"Maybe a little too much fun." We both smile at the boy's excitement from the slimy worm.

"I can't wait to have kids with you one day." He announces as he gives my hand a slight squeeze.

"Oh," I squeak. "Um, yeah." I begin to panic.

"What's wrong?" His concern is evident on his face.

I just can't tell him.

"Nothing, I'm fine." I say a little too quickly.

I know that Joffrey senses that something isn't right, but he doesn't press the subject any further.

Later on that day, we return to our house and I can finally escape for some alone time. I hope he doesn't bring it up again.

About an hour passes before Joffrey comes into my room with tears in his eyes.

"Is this why you never want to talk about having kids with me?" He holds up several pieces of paper.

"Where did you get those?" My eyes go wide and my heart rate increases.

I stand from the bed and walk towards him, taking the papers from his hands.

"How could you keep this from me?" He whimpers.

"I-I don't k-know." Tears begin falling from my eyes. "I just, I felt like..." I groan and sit back down on the bed, placing my head into my hands.

"You felt like what?" He sits down next to me and places a hand on my back.

"Like it was my fault that I lost the baby." I sob into his chest.

"It wasn't your fault. Not at all." He tells me. "I just wish you would have told me. It was my baby too, you know."

"I know, I'm so sorry." He wipes my tears from my cheeks and kisses my forehead.

"Next time you're pregnant, just tell me." He smiles, laughing a bit.

"I promise, I will." I smile back at him.

Three months later, I find out that I'm pregnant with a baby boy. Joffrey and I can't be more excited to welcome our new baby into the world.
