Chapter 44

Selena.

You have got to be kidding me. My heart is sinking down to my stomach and my stomach completely turned.
How could he take her here for supper, wether he knew I was gonna be here or not, how could he do that.

I was trying my very hardest not to cry in front of them, but it's becoming more difficult with every couple remark they make. She's glued to him like a little pet the whole night. She laughs at all his dumb jokes, smiles at him uncontrollably, and nudges him playfully, just like I did.

At the table, he sits next to her and Pattie and Dad are on either sides of the table, i'm sitting across from Justin in my usual spot. I choose not to look up because i know that if i do, i'll probably burst into tears.

I chew on my supper slowly, and keep my head down low, not including myself in any of their conversations.

" We're recording a song together! " She squealed, interrupting my thoughts.

I shot my head up and looked straight at Justin, he was staring at me too. " I'm so sorry " he mouthed the words.

I rolled my eyes and ignored him, how can he does this. I feel betrayed, i feel used almost. He knows how much he means to me, even though we're not on the greatest terms at the moment, but he knows i love him.

" I'm so excited to start recording with him! " She said, nudging his elbow.

I can't take this anymore, " Excuse me." I said, standing up and walking out of the kitchen.

I walked up to my old bedroom and sat on the empty mattress. Tears began to roll down my face and i could feel my make up, stinging my eyes.
I sat there with my head down for a good half hour. Justin barged through my room door, scaring me to the point where i jumped.

" Jessica, i am so sorry. "

I couldn't look at him right now.

" Jessica, please look at me. " He pleaded, kneeling down in front of me. He grabbed my face, and cupped both of his hands around my jaw.

" What, " I said over sniffles.

" I am so sorry, i did not know you were going to be here. I promise i would not do that to you on purpose. " He explained.

I looked down at my toes, curling under my socks. " What does it matter anyways, you love her not me. " I cried.

" God Jess, you know I- "

I couldn't let him speak any longer, i cut him off by quickly crashing my lips into his. " God Justin i love you so much. " I said between kisses.

He continued to kiss me back, more passionately with every kiss. I placed my hands under behind his neck and pushed him in closer to me. " You have no idea how much you mean to me. " I said breathlessly.

" I missed you. So much. " He said again between kisses.

" I missed you too. " I said pulling away.

" Justin, i understand now. I know it's hard to choose but i'm just broken. You have no clue how hard it is for me, seeing you with her. " I said, leaning my forehead against his.

" I know, i'm sorry i messed up so bad."

I couldn't help but laugh at him, " I know. "

He held my waist and pulled me in for another kiss. " I have to keep the Selena thing going for just a while longer, you know that right? "

" Yeah, i guess so. " I answered, a little mad that he brought it up.

" I'm so sorry Jess, i love you so much, i hope you know that. "

I nodded, " I know, i love you too. "

He smiled, and i couldn't help but lean in and kiss him once more. I missed his touch so much, it wouldn't hurt to kiss him once more.

" I just want to take it slow this time around, maybe when you're done with Selena we can seriously consider being serious again. "

He nodded, not saying anything else. I hugged him, whispering thank you into his ear and giving him a hug. I buried my head into his shoulder and rested there for a while, taking in his scent.

" Jessica? " Pattie said walking through the door without knocking.

I let go of Justin and we both looked up. Smiling, embarrassed.

" Oh, crap sorry. " She said stepping back. " So what, you guys working things out now? "

He laughed, " We're getting there. "

" I should probably go home now, i'll see you guys tomorrow. "

I wanted to ask Justin to come over with me but like i said, taking this slow is probably our best option now.

Once Pattie left the room, he kissed me before i put my coat on and walked downstairs.

" Goodnight Jess. " He said waving good bye from the bottom of the staircase.

" Night Justin. "
