" come in" the sound of your faint and soft voice echoes the walls of the room you were staying, upon saying this words a woman wearing a very delicately made Chinese qi pao went up to you with a bow. You slowly put the brush on the table place as you slowly made your way to the waiting woman. With a faint bow she slowly eyed you as you waited to her to speak before speaking another question.
" the madam is calling for you" the woman spoke, hearing this you nodded as you slowly took one of your hair clips and pinning it on your hair. A lotus flower pin given by non-other by the madam of the house hold. The woman slowly led you the way where you needed to be, but in all honesty being in this room for almost every day of your life you surely do know where is the place.
The walk into the room was not long, you found yourself standing in front of the big door decorated with flowers when you two reach the place the woman slowly bow at you as she walk her way. You slowly took one step to knock on the wooden door, you heard audible foot step before the door slowly opened.
Behind the door was your friend Patriacia, she smile at you as she nodded acknowledging your presence " hey come in" you hear he speak few short words, you didn't question her request when you slowly took foot inside the room. When you entered the room you saw another friend of yours who was helping the madam in fixing her hair " you are a bit late" she said, Vera looked at you as like she was waiting for you to speak.
" sorry" you spoke but before Vera can even question you any further the Madame spoke in soft voice. " don't worry child, I am sure Vera is just being too worried about you" with that your eyes turned to look at the lovely woman in front of you, the exact same woman who saved you from being homeless and being nothing.
Michiko smiled at you as she slowly stood up, her long fur attach on her arms as she slowly but elegantly turned to you. Patricia was now standing beside you as she was eyeing the whole scene; Vera placed the brush on the table as she also anticipates what is to happen. Michiko slowly walked her way towards you, a mother yes that is what she is to you.
Ever since your parents died you were left to tend on your own but since you were just 5 that time all you could do is wait for your dead. That was your plan but then a hand softly reaches from you and there you saw her, Michiko the woman who took you in like her own child. And from that moment you bow to always follow and lover her for she is the mother you never get to have.
" my dead child y/n" she called you out as you eyed her, with a smile she hugged you making you flush a bit the woman was known to show such affection to everyone almost everyone. " would you be kind to take care of Norton today, I need to go out the other town for other business" she smiled at you as her hand rest comfortably on your shoulders.
Yes, she has a son a 5 year old son ( this is my own version so I wanted Norton to be really young here ). You nodded as you spoke your thought " of course, I would love too" with that the woman smile lovingly as he slowly pat your head with sincere look she smiled once more before saying " you truly are wonderful child" with that she slowly let go of you.
Her presence calm you, her words even made your heart falter you loved her dearly like a child loving her mother and you will never understand why she was so nice and so gentle when she was with you. Other servants were being too angry about how the madam was treating you all too well but you dare not even think badly about her reasons.
" well then, he should be arriving any time soon" with that door slowly opened revealing the child you were supposed to take care. " mother" he beamed at her as she smiled taking him in her arms, with some loud giggles the room echoes a very calming and loving moment. You eyed them as you marveled at how lovely this relationship was, the child loved his mother dearly and the woman shows no interested of letting him go.
" hello my dear" she smiled kissing the child in the head, Norton only smiled kissing her cheeks in return. Not long two brothers stood behind you, slowly turning around you saw the madams trusted body guard, you never really were close to them something about them made you feel unsafe and with that you never really get along well with them.
" hello there" one with the white hair looked at you, his face is calmer compare to the one standing beside him. " Hello" was your short and dry response seeing you are not interested in conversing the male slowly smiled at you before turning his eyes back to the madam.
" okay so I will be leaving today my dear, but y/n will keep you company" with the sound of the news Nortons face slowly gloom with sadness, Michiko noticed this as she slowly twirl him around kissing his cheeks in the process " don't worry I won't be long" she reassured him, Norton was hesitant but he decided to trust her beside she never lied to him.
" okay but come back soon okay?" he smiled as he hugged her seeing the childs amazing bright smile Michiko nodded as she kiss his head " of course" with that she slowly let Norton down on the floor as she took the young childs hand with her. Leading him to you " y/n take care okay" Norton slowly let go of the hand his mother was holding as you slowly took Norton with you.
" yes madam" with that, the madam slowly made her way out the door where Patricia and Vera soon followed and not long the two guards two. You and Norton eyed the leaving woman, her graceful steps and her loving presence slowly disappear in the halls of the household.
Your thoughts were just shattered when you felt Nortons grips on yours tighten, you slowly turned to him as you saw his really sad face. He slowly lifted his eyes to look at you and with a smile you sat down into his level before wiping his tears " don't worry she will be back really soon" you spoke at him, he only eyed you for few seconds before opening his arms signaling he wanted to get hug.
Nodding you pulled him closer to your body as you slowly lifted him up in your arms, his arms automatically reaches for your shoulders as he tried his best to steadied himself. " so what do you want to do now?" you asked the young child his pout was still visible and the faint red on his cheeks was hard to ignore. " can we go to the town?" he asked you, your brow raise as you looked at him with curious eyes " what for?" you asked him as he pout even more.
" I wanted to give something to mother when she came back a gift maybe?" he said as you smiled, nodding in agreement you pat hold his hand. Slowly you two walked out the room before heading out to town, the walk to town was not that long the lively streets of the place was decorated with different colors of bandanas and different kind of people.
Norton's eyes twinkle with delight when he saw the colorful place, he wasn't allowed to go outside ever so often and so he tried to savor every minute of it when he can go out. " wow" he said as you eyed him with delight, you passed by a candy stall which makes different candy shapes. His eyes watch the process with wonder; you slowly placed him down on the floor as he eyed the man making the candy into a dragon.
" would you want one?" you asked him, his head turned to you light speed when he heard your offer he nodded happily as you slowly took money from your pocket before paying the man. Norton took one candy that resemble a bunny and with that you gently took hold of his hand as you two stroll around the place.
When you two passed by a very old looking stall Nortons eyes caught something, he let go of your hand as he stumble his way towards the shop, you hurriedly followed him as you tried to catch up. His hand reaches up for something a hair pin made with lovely red roses. He smiled as he eyed it, you kneel down in his level as you watch him adored the new found thing. " this, I will give this to mother" with that he took some money from his pocket but since he was still a child he didn't have enough.
His eyes slowly gloom when he realized that the money he has was not enough, he was about to place it back on the table top when you slowly took his hands. Taking him my surprise he eyed you curiously before speaking words that will change his mood.
" don't worry I'll cover for it just promise me to be a good boy" he nodded as he smiled at you, you paid for the item as the vendor wrap it in a very silky lovely pouch. Norton took it in his hand as he smiled at you. You two slowly walked your way back to the house hold where he will need to spend his time sleeping because it was already his nap time.
Time skip/
You woke up with a loud banging on your door, Norton was sleeping beside you as you stumble your way to open it. When you open it the sky was already dark, Patricia was panting really hard as she eyed you "where is the young master?" she hurried asked you, panic in your features you hold her in support " sleeping what is happening?" you asked her as she shook her head in fear. " Take him we need to get out from here" you eyed her with worry " what is happening?" you asked her again, she turned to you with a sad eyes " someone is trying to kill us" she said " we need to hurry" hearing this you took Norton in your arms as you carried him following Patricia to somewhere.
As you followed her, the continues running make you dizzy " where is the madam?" she slowly eyed you as she spoke " she's waiting for us in the carriage place." She said a wave of relief washed over you as you slowly saw the place she was leading you. Not long you can finally see madam in front she eyed you sadly as she smile a bit " there they are" Patricia spoke.
You were about to reach the carriage when, Michiko slowly hugged you spinning you around to take something in your turn. Your eyes widen when you heard a gunshot followed by the falling madam in front of you " MADAM!!!!" Patricia called out, before eyeing what is behind you. The two guards caught up with the chasing and with that her eyes tremble with fear.
" my child I am so sorry" Michiko slowly lifted her hand to reach for you as you were still holding Norton, " guess my time is up" she slowly spoke as your tears slowly pour, the distant from the two guards was far but they will catch up with you in no time. " please take care of him y/n" her tears smearing the colorful eye make up that suits her so well, with that you nodded not long Norton slowly opened his eyes to see his mother.
" mother your back" Michiko smiled at him as she nodded, " but I needed to go again" she smiled sadly, Norton pout as he heard it not long the young child gave him the pouch he was holding " for you mother for the most wonderful mother of all" with that Michiko slowly cried and weep, her hand slowly hold the young child hand as she took the hair pin putting it on her hair " does it suit me?" she asked, Norton only smiled giddy and nodded, your tears falls like river the painful situation is making your remorseful for both.
Patricia slowly took hold of your hand as she slowly help you up, Michiko stayed on the ground as she eyed you " take care okay?" she called out, Norton only nodded sadly " I will be waiting mother okay" he smiled, you hugged the young child before boarding the carriage, Michiko slowly cried herself out.
Not long you heard another gun shot, Norton was not sure why you and Patricia was crying. He was talking about lot of things that could make you feel better and yet you didn't had the heart to tell him that his waiting will have to be longer this time, because this time mother won't be coming back. You hugged him tight as you cried, the loss of your mother was painful enough to bring you into your knees.
