Joseph X Reader ( A familiar feeling )
A small girl with bright smile runs in the bright and colorful garden, the maids behind her was trying to stop her from running but she didn't budge to listen to them. Her hair flows magnificently in the wind as her small form run to keep at stride. The maids continue to run after the little lady, her dress flows and glides with the wind, she didn't even show any signs of panting as she lividly run towards a small group under the shade of a big tree.
y/n: Clause !!! Joseph!!" the little girl called out, the two brothers immediately turned around to see the running girl her face bloom in pink shade and her heavy smile was always contagious. The two brothers waited till she reaches them before standing up from their position and greeting her. The two brothers bowed at the younger girl.
Claude: young mistress please be easy, I do recall that I reminded that you should not be running" he added the small girl only pout at him and nodded anyways.
Joseph: what brings you here young mistress I am sure your father requested an attendance and yet you are here?" the other brother asked the now pouting girl, with a huff she turned her eyes away from them.
y/n: you two making it sound that you are not happy to see me" she said with the words from here mouth the two tense up and became worried, it was true she was one of the royal blood line of the earl they were serving and the girl took liking of them and decided to be one of her playmates.
Claude: it's not like that young mistress" he added, joseph sighing in the process before apologizing to her " we're sorry"
the two said in unison the girl only beam in happiness.
y/n: I had ask father to buy me a pair of bow and they came in today" the girl smiled at the two as she showed the box decorated with details of curves and swirls. The mere box shows how expensive it is and the two became more vividly shocked " I got them for both of you" she added " today was your birth day right? So happy birth day" the girl opened the box to reveal to identical hair bow, made with fine satin the two brothers stood there shocked.
Their music teacher who was looking at the whole scene just waited, the two brothers turned to look at him looking for advice " my lady I don't think it is proper to give us such expensive gifts" Joseph said, the young girl draw the bow on her chest being discourage by the younger boys words.
y/n: but I wanted these bows for you two, beside father said it was fine " the teacher looked at the two young boys before nodding, Claude and Joseph stare at the bows presented to them, " let me help you to put it on" she again said the two boys only nodded in agreement, the maids help the young mistress to place the hair bow on the two boys. When she was already satisfied with the placement, she clap her hand in glee " there perfect it suits you two really well" she said.
Claude: thank you very much young mistress" he said before gliding one of his fingers on his silver locks, Joseph only wished this moment to last he had love the warm feeling they currently was living. Y/n's family took them both brothers as family, even granting them position to be a study partner of the young daughter they were both thankful.
y/n: Happy Birth Day again" she smiled, as the small girl slowly vanished into thin dark air.
Flash Back End:
Joseph opened his eyes, the color of the dark gray ceiling reminded him that he was living in a very dangerous manor and taking part of this all so called " GAME". He rubs his eyes as he adjusted his position, the bed was not comfy a it feels before he groans as he remembered the dream, the long forgotten memories of his childhood and once he was still alive. He missed those all and yet fate had made him into something he never thought he will be, a monster that plays a role in this twisted fated game. He slowly sit up as he slowly tied his silver locks into a soft and gentle pony, memories of his childhood had been haunting him in the last few days.
Memories he wanted both to keep and forget, keep for these are the memories left by his brother the pieces of his brother that remains in his heart and in his memories. And forget still that in those memories he failed to protect the most important person in his life and next to his brother was the love of his life.
All memories came into blur when it comes to that specific girl, her faces was a vision he cannot recall the voice he had yearned to remember he wishes to remember her. The first and last love he had experience before fate took his life, and yet again he was sure he will never have this chance again.
Outside the manor, a young girl walk aimlessly in the thick forest she had no idea what brings her here and why is she here but one thing is for sure. The invitation she received said that it can help her find her true desires, desires? The girl stood amidst the bushy branches and grasses in the forest. "What was my real desire?" her hair flows in the wind the sunlight seeping through the twigs illuminate her face. Missing insufficient memories of her past she desires to find answer, being librarian for so long her life moves slowly and one day a letter came in with such mystery.
She slowly continue to walk to the unknown place, she wanted answer and she wanted to see the world if this world really is for her. What brings memories that she cannot remember, she see pictures and memories unknown to her, they feels like dreams of her past life. One thing is for sure those memories are hers, she can sense it was her and that persons view was hers and she wanted help to find those missing parts of her life.
After the long walk she stumble upon a big manor, it was big enough to be called a mansion but one thing confuses her the big place is run down with no signs of living, she still took steps into the unknown place she wanted to know what is inside and her fear is not something she will let to drive the curiosity.
She knock in the big door of the manor, waiting for someone to answer her knocks without delay the door opened shocking her in the process. There stood a girl obviously older than her, " hello" the new person greeted her, her mind was studying the new persona she was facing." You must be the new survivor, I am Emily welcome" she said as she opened the door widely for her. She nodded and bowed at her, " I am y/n, nice to meet you" the doctor only smiled at her, not long another girls stood beside her. " I am Ema Woods" she greeted, y/n nodded as she shook the girls hand, the three of them slowly went inside.
The two lead the new girl into the living room where almost all of the survivor was resting " hey this is the new survivor" the girl stood there non nervous it was her persona never to be scared of nervous at anything and so she stood there comfortably. She can note how different all people are in the living room, she can see people wearing Hood, cloak and all different kind of person.
After the mini greetings, Ema and Emily lead her to her appointed room the walk to her room was long but the two of her new company made it more relaxing and accepting. She may be new to this game but she was sure she picked most of the details in this game; she will be having her match on Monday which today was only just Friday. When they reach the door the two of her company bid her farewell, she slowly went inside the given room to her surprise it was bigger than what she expected, and there was already towels and few night wear.
That night she skipped dinner even though Ema took the chance to call her out, she was not feeling too well maybe it was because of the long travel here but the giddy girl understood her and left her to rest. She took the time to organized the things she brought her with in this travel, few of her trusted books and pens and few of her memorable things such as the watch she lived with all her life.
That night she was restless, staring at the ceiling for almost 2 hours now she momentarily sits up and decided to fetch herself a glass of water. The walk to the kitchen was silent only the moon light, light her ways in the empty and big halls of the manor. The wind was chilly and it brings her crisp feeling until her toe, she continues to walk her way to the kitchen. But since she was not familiar with the location she found herself lost in the big place, wandering in the big halls she continue to walk.
Until she reach a door that is designed heavily, it was big and very dark the moonlight makes her see few of the finest design of the door and so she slowly approach the door starting at it for few seconds. Her handed softly reach to the knob of the door as she slowly pushed the door to open. The cold gust of wind made her tremble, but she slowly made her way inside to the unknown side.
She continue to walk in the halls of the new found place, she find it still normal that she was slowly walking into the room she never seen before not that she mind this whole manor was new to her at least.
Joseph can't sleep either, his mind was replaying the dream over and over again to his dismay he finally decided to have a walk or some fresh air, in the end he decided to have a walk in the garden he suited up and pulled one of his over sleep coat just in case it was extra chilly tonight. He can't understand but something is pushing him to walk out his dark room, upon further deciding he was already on his way towards the said garden.
He slowly stride in the halls of the hunters side in deep of thinking his mind wander off somewhere, not long his attention was drawn into something. His eyes stared shock at a figure he never though he will see once again, the girl slowly walk the empty halls with her dim light lamp when she noticed a guy staring at her she stop midway and stared back at him.
Joseph can't utter a word she was the exact face of the girl in his dreams, her face shows calmness as his shows confusion " good evening" said the unknown girl taking him from his dream he step back from the said girl " I am lost can you tell me where is the kitchen??" she commented Joseph just stood there not sure what is happening. Is this a dream? Is she real? Or a dream? He was confuse " you shouldn't be here" he said which makes the girl confuse. " sorry" the girls said, joseph took a deep breathe before walking towards he, she really is the same face he saw in his dreams.
" I'll walk you back" he said, the girl only nodded in agreement, the two reach the door once again and when the girl passed by she looked at joseph with a confuse eyes " aren't you going?" she asked the photographer only shook his head " good night, mon amour" he said and then everything softly turns black.
y/n woke up in her bed the next day, she was not sure if what happened yesterday night was a dream or was it just her imagination. That person she saw was really familiar, familiar that even the look on his eyes makes her heart hurts so much. She decided to just forget what happened and continue with her everyday life.
Time skip
Today will be her first match and she was excited for it, the focus she had in her mind was to perfect the cipher and not get caught by the hunter, she will be playing with Naib, Aesop and Emily they promised her to protect her at all cost since this was her first match. The four sit there in the long table waiting for the match to start, the room slowly fades to black and the match already started.
y/n find herself near a cipher machine she run towards it seeing that Emily was already there, with a smile the two slowly work on the cipher. The alarm went off signaling that Naib was down, Aesop took the chance to save him as Emily and y/n continues to finish ciphers. The next alarm was noted when Aesop was already down, Emily looked at her as she said that she will recue them. Emily left y/n working on the cipher confident that the hunter will not be finding her anytime soon. The moment Emily were gone black and red shadows form beside y/n she stayed confused and curious, after few moments Joseph materialized beside her the beating of her hard shows how close the hunter was.
When Joseph turned to her, he saw the familiar face he had yearn for so long Y/n just stood there something about the new person eyes makes her wonder and makes her calm. The beating of her heart slows down as Joseph slowly walked towards her " is that you?" he asked the girl who only stare at him.
y/n: who?" she asked confused, joseph had a sad eyes as he slowly spoke " young mistress" he said enough for the girl to hear, and just like that her memories came flashing at her. Every scene reply vividly in her memories, she had found him the missing piece of her life " joseph" with that josephs eyes widens " is that you?" the girl asked once again.
Joseph put one of his hand on his mouth, his sword falling on the ground " y/n? young mistress" with that the girl nodded " it took me so long to find you" with that her tears slowly falls down her cheeks, Joseph slowly walked towards her wiping the tears in her face " you always looks so beautiful even when you are crying" with that he slowly hugged the girl.
All the cipher were done and the three of her team mates were waiting for her in the gate, they stood alarmed when they saw y/n walking with joseph but when they realized that he had no intent of hurting her they let him walk up to them. Confused an curious the group stared at them, y/n hand was intertwined with josephs bigger one slowly she let go of his comforting hands.
y/n: until then" she said, joseph only nodded as he slowly let go of her hand, the group of survivor went back to the manor and there y/n explained who was joseph to her. She cannot wait to see him again.
