Katniss pov
I woke up. I made a decision. I was now brave. I wasn't gonna go cry all over people. I am going to put my emotions to the side and focus on keeping us alive. Gale woke up a few minutes later. "Hey" he said. I was brave. No more tears Katniss. None. "What are you thinking about" Gale says. He knows I'm thinking about something. "I'm thinking that I'm not gonna cry or be a baby anymore. At least not in from of anyone. And I'm going to be brave for once and help keep us all alive." I say. "Katniss, you were always brave. Your the bravest person I know. And you can cry with me. I'm here for you ok?" Gale says. I smile and hug him. "Thanks Gale" I say.
The whole day, I kept repeating to myself. Be brave Katniss. No tears Katniss. Don't show them your sad Katniss. I was actually feeling less depressed and a whole lot better. No crying. Less flashbacks.
I slept soundly wrapped in games embrace. Tonight was a good night.
The next morning as everyone woke up, I feel even better than the day before. Gale and I decide to go hunting. I'm smiling the whole time. We sit at the top of a tree, waiting for game to come wandering by. Gale and I talked about lots of different things. We fell into a comfortable silents, just enjoying each others company. "I love you" he said. I turned my head and kissed him gently on the lips. Butterflies were racing through my stomach. We broke apart. I smiled really big. "I love you to" I said. He smiled back. Yes. Today was defiantly a good day
