After discussing the construction work for the villa with the Butler.
Tessia and I decided to go to the city to go shopping and sightseeing since we would be leaving for the Duchy soon.
We headed to the most popular boutique around.
As we entered, the owner bowed her flushed face and greeted Tessia.
"Welcome Duchess and Lady Aelia."
Tessia just nodded and walked past her, I silently followed after her since I had gotten used to her behaviour around others.
"Bring out your newest catalogue"
Instructed the silver-haired lady wearing a silky black off-shoulder dress.
"Of course!!"
Said the owner passionately.
Witnessing the Duchess like this makes it hard to believe she turns into a soft golden retriever around her daughters.
The owner entered with two of the most trending catalogues this season.
"Lia, what do you think about this one?"
She asked me with her head tilted.
"Hmm, it doesn't quite suit my style who's it for?"
I asked back sitting on the couch next to Tessia.
"I was thinking of getting it for the youngest since we've left her alone for quite some time."
Ahh, she's talking about Aelia's sister.
It's true that we left for a while since I haven't even met her yet.
I really didn't know about her since she was rarely mentioned in the novel.
Heck, her name wasn't even known to the readers, Thus everyone referred to her as Aelia's sister or the silver haired one. Pitiful isn't it?
I for one didn't really pay attention to her much in the novel but Aelia's memories helped me quite a bit in learning more about her.
I was a bit worried about her since I thought Aelia would be a flawed sister because of her role as a villainess but surprisingly she and her sister got along quite well.
That was until her obsession with the prince started and she began neglecting her sister.
"Ah if it's for her I think she'll like it "
I said casually even though I didn't have a clue about her preferences.
"Rightt?! I knew you would agree."
Said the Duchess whilst humming with a smile on her face.
We chose more clothing for both the duchess and I.
I then told Nora to inform the owner to send everything to the estate we were staying at now.
We left the building and went sightseeing around the city.
Tessia looked at her pocket watch and said.
"Ahh I'm sorry Lia I have to leave for an important meeting now, you can stay a bit longer if you would like though."
I nodded and then replied.
"It's okay you should go, I still have Clora and Nora with me."
She looked at me with a sullen gaze and waved before getting into the carriage leaving the three of us standing there looking until her carriage turned into a black dot.
"My lady where do you want to go to?" said Nora.
"Kebab skewers"
I said with a straight face.
The twins looked perplexed and tilted their heads.
"Are you sure My lady? Only commoners eat them, Is that okay with you?"
Asked Nora trying to figure out my intentions.
"Yes now let's go get them"
I said passing by them.
They quickly followed me whilst we headed to the commoner's district.
After arriving at district six, where the commoners resided, the market square was bustling with merchants and vendors.
The atmosphere was bright and dazzling, children playing around and couples laughing happily whilst enjoying themselves.
Compared to the aristocratic shopping areas, the nobles seemed dull and uptight.
We found a skewer stand near the entrance to which Nora lead us.
I swiftly fixed my hooded cloak and followed after her.
"Hello young ladies, what would you like"
Said the middle-aged lady with a soft business-like smile on her face.
"Six kebab skewers, two without vegetables please"
I said ignoring the shocked expressions the twins gave me.
"Of course, please wait for a second "
The lady clasped her hands and went on to package the food in a mana-made paper bag.
"Sure.."
I said back holding in the urge to lick my lips.
She came back a few minutes later with the skewers in the paper bag.
"Sixty Silver please"
I put 2 gold coins on the counter since I didn't have any less on me, I was about to turn around when the woman called after me.
"Your change My lady"
She said in a nervous voice.
"Ah that.... keep it"
I said and turned around to the maid who had a soft expression and the knight who was just blankly staring at me.
"Here."
I handed two pieces each to both of them.
"Ahh Noo My lady our lowly selves cannot accept your generosity"
Said Nora in a high-pitched voice, Clora just simply nodded.
"It's just meat take it, plus it's for commoners not much of a deal, now let's go since we have nothing else to do here."
I said back.
"Ah thank you, My lady"
Nora said with a slight blush on her face, Clora also added, her expression slowly becoming softer than usual.
We were headed to find a carriage when we heard a sound.
*Boom*
"What the-"
I turned my gaze to the isolated alley we were next to.
"Let's just continue-"
We were about to leave until we heard the shouts.
"You stupid things how dare you to think you can run away from me!!!"
Said a middle-aged portly man who looked like he would go bald any second.
He was choking what looked like two baby puppies whilst screaming fiercely at them.
"My lady this area isn't safe we should leave."
Said Clora after glancing at the sight.
Nora on the other hand stood beside me gritting her teeth and clenching her fists.
"Clora... do you think you can take him on or does exceed your level ."
I asked her to make sure my future decisions wouldn't put any of us in danger.
"I can finish him off my lady just give your order."
Said Clora with confidence without hesitation.
"Just teach him a lesson and send him to the guards don't go too far."
I said again after getting chills from her stoic voice.
The three of us headed toward the scene.
"Threatening what's weaker than you is quite cowardly or do you just need to fill up that inferiority complex of yours?"
I snickered at the man who sharpened his gaze towards me.
"Hah.. you better leave here before I mess up that beautiful face of yours and do things you could never imagine."
Said the man as he disgustingly licked his lips.
"Bastards like you are the reasons why this world needs to be purified .. I think I'm going to puke"
I said with a disgusted look on my face.
The man dropped the puppies as he rushed toward me.
Uckk !
Clora stroked him and started beating him mercilessly up into a pulp.
I turned my gaze towards the puppies, I gently picked them up and wrapped them into my arms.
We had a few seconds of eye contact before they suddenly fell unconscious.
"Clora meet us at the carriages when you're done "
"Yes My lady it won't take long."
She responded.
It really didn't take long after a few minutes we met up with Clora and headed back to the estate, I told her to report everything that happened with the Guards after we got home.
After arriving I instructed Nora to make a bath for the puppies and to call in a veterinarian, I personally gave them a bath whilst waiting for the vet.
The vet arrived and diagnosed them with malnutrition and told me about the wounds they had on them.
She advised us to feed them well and nurse their wounds until they got better. She left after all the necessary work was done.
I took a bath and came back into my bedroom in a robe.
"You can stop pretending now I know you're awake."
The two babies flinched as they peeked at me with wimpy eyes.
What a cute sight.
