F/N'S POV
"F/n, come here," my brother called from his room.
"Be there in a second." I shoved my school essentials in my bag and walked to the room next door.
"What is it, Keiji?" I asked, poking my head through the door. He beckoned me to his bedside. I followed suit. He fixed my uniform and smoothed out the wrinkles.
"Is your bag ready?"
"Yes."
"PE clothes?"
"Yes."
"Schedule?"
"Yes, Kei-nii, I have everything," I replied, shaking my head.
"I just want to make sure," he replied. "It is your first day since your transfer."
"I'll be fine Keiji." He nodded and I returned to my room. I hooked my bag across my shoulder grabbing a bracelet along the way. It was a simple braided bracelet, coloured in black and white with a metal nameplate.

I miss you.
I sighed walking out the door with my brother. We arrived at school fairly quickly. Lucky for me, we were in the same class. The teacher called my name and I introduced myself to the class.
"My name Is Akaashi F/n. I hope we can all get along."
"Welcome to Fukurōdani, F/n. You may return to your seat."
"Thank you, sensei."
Just like Akaashi, I always made sure to pay attention in class. But today, I found myself spacing out a bit. It wasn't for long but my mind kept wandering off.
"Thinking about him?" my brother asked. I rested my chin on my palms.
"I don't know, maybe."
When the morning classes ended, Keiji brought me to the cafeteria for lunch. A group of boys waved him over.
"This is my twin, F/n," my brother introduced.
"It's nice to meet you," I said with a slight bow. "Are you his teammates?"
I received nods all around. After introductions, I was familiar with everyone.
"Who's younger?" Komi asked.
"F/n."
"No need to sound smug about it, Keiji."
"My bad," he said, taking food from my bento. I did the same to him.
"Oh, that reminds me, have any of you seen Bokuto-san?" he asked.
Most of the boys shrugged, having no clue.
"I saw him in class on the way here. He looked down," Washio answered. "I think he got detention."
Akaashi sighed. "I guess you can meet him later."
I blinked. "Who is he?"
"Bokuto Kōtarō, our team captain and ace," Sarukui said. I froze.
Kō...Could it be?
"F/n, are you okay?"
I shook myself back to reality, noticing the worry on Keiji's face. "I'm fine, Keiji. I was just thinking."
When lunch ended, we all parted ways for our next class. But now, I couldn't focus on the lecture. All I could think about was that name. That boy I met so long ago.
You're here, aren't you?
"F/n, class is over," Akaashi said, shaking my shoulder. My body jerked away in surprise. I sighed, scolding myself for being so absent-minded.
"Are you not feeling well?" Keiji asked. "Do you want to go home?"
I smiled. "I'm fine Keiji. I'm just thinking," I replied, staring at the bracelet on my wrist. Keiji insisted it was okay if I wanted to return home but I reassured him I was fine.
"Just memories suddenly coming back," I told him.
"You never told me who gave you that bracelet," he said.
I laughed softly. It was so long ago. Back then, I kept a lot of things from Keiji given he was protective of me.
"It's from a dear friend of mine I met years ago. When we moved, he gave me this bracelet to remember him."
"I might know him. Do you remember what he looks like?"
I sighed. "All I remember is his unique hair colour. It was black and white."
"Maybe you'll meet him again."
"I hope so. I miss him."
TIME SKIP AUTHOR'S POV
Akaashi walked in the halls with Bokuto at his side.
"Oh, I feel like someone is praising me!"
"Well, It sure isn't me," Akaashi said looking to the side. He noticed something on Bokuto's wrist in the window reflection. He checked and confirmed what he saw. Bokuto had a braided bracelet around his wrist. One similar to F/n's, in (f/c), with a silver nameplate.
"Bokuto-san, is that bracelet new?"
"This?" he replied, holding his wrist up. "No, I've had it for years. An old friend of mine moved and I got a pair so we could remember each other. I haven't seen them in a while though."
Akaashi pieced things in his mind. "I think I know who you're talking about."
"Really!? Do they live in Tokyo?"
"They're studying at this school."
"Akaashi, you have to tell me where I can find them!"
The setter was a little shocked that Bokuto had properly pronounced his name. "At lunch. I'll tell them to meet you at gym 3."
"Thank you so much!" Bokuto exclaimed, twirling the setter in his arms. He dropped him on his feet and dashed to his class. Akaashi stood there in shock from the events that unfolded. He blinked several times before finding enough normality to walk.
"I think I broke Bokuto-san."
F/N'S POV
Keiji returned to class looking like he witnessed something horrific.
"Keiji, what happened?"
"I think the world is ending."
"Eh?"
TIME SKIP
Keiji told me to go to the gym. When I asked him why he said it was a surprise. I was sitting by the door waiting for the surprise to show up. I was so entranced in my thoughts that I failed to notice someone approaching me. Someone's hand dipped into my line of sight. I saw a bracelet on their wrist and my eyes widened in shock. I held their hand and was hoisted up into a hug.
"N/n...you came back."
A single tear shed from my eye. The memories came flooding back.

That was cool Kō. You should join the volleyball team.

Mhm, you're gonna be the best player.

One for you and one for me. This way we'll always find each other.

I hugged him back. "I'm back, Kō." We stayed in each other's arms for what seemed like forever until he let go. He looked me in the eye. His piercing yellow eyes, his tender smile, his dual-toned hair...
"Beautiful."
He gingerly placed a kiss on my temple. A touch so soft, I felt light as a feather. He slipped his hand to mine, locking them together.
"Want to have lunch with me?"
I smiled. "I would love to."
We walked close together getting many stares from students but not paying attention to them. I was too focused on the magnificent man beside me. Kōtarō had grown muscular since our childhood days. His eyes were sharp and his voice had deepened considerably.
"Enjoying the view?" he said, sneaking a glance my way. I smiled.
"You've changed so much and yet you're still the same."
He chuckled softly. "Is that a good or bad thing?"
I felt my face heat up. "A good thing. You're handsome now and you have an amazing build."
"I'm glad you like the look. You haven't changed much either," he said. "Although, you've grown more beautiful than I remember."
"Kōtarō, you're making me blush," I replied, averting my gaze.
"I'm sorry. I missed you. You're not mad are you?"
I gave his hand a light squeeze. "I could never be mad at you."
TIME SKIP
"N/n, did you see that amazing cross-shot I just did! Huh, did ya!"
"Yes, it was amazing."
"Ahh, it was a total fluke!"
I puffed a small laugh. Kōtarō was something else. I was watching their after-school practice since I had nothing else to do. Keiji also insisted I stay to 'help us when Bokuto-san goes emo-mode.'
"Don't toss to me anymore Aghaashi!"
"Okay."
Kōtarō was getting ignored by Keiji during the set which only depressed him more. He came crawling to my side during the break.
"F/n, aghaashi won't toss to me," he said, laying his head on my lap.
"You told him not to," I replied.
"I didn't think he'd listen," he whined. "I can't even hit cross-shots right anymore..."
"We all have bad days, Kō. Don't let that stop you. You're an incredible spiker. You even made the top 5. That's an accomplishment."
"...But Aghaashi—"
"Just wants you to calm down a little. He's not doubting your skill. You're amazing. You're the ace of Fukurōdani."
He sat up newly energized. "Hey, hey, hey! You're right! Aghaaashi, toss to me!"
Keiji sent me a silent 'thank you' to which I nodded in reply. Kōtarō was full of energy throughout the remainder of practice. When things were over he came to me. I wiped his face with a towel.
"You worked hard today."
"I wanted to impress you."
"You don't have to do much to impress me," I replied, handing him some water. "I'm always amazed whenever you play."
"Just date already," Konoha said.
"I agree," Keiji added. "Watching you two is overbearing."
I looked at Kōtarō. "Do you want to?"
"Do you?" he replied with light pink cheeks. I smiled.
"It's all I ever wanted."

The boys whistled in the back but I didn't care. All I wanted was to stay in this moment forever.
