JAMAL TURNER POV

NEXT DAY

Ruby, Monse, and I pulled up to this Brentwood party together, staring at the house in front of us in awe. We don't know whose house this is, but god damn it's lavish.

Ruby stepped inside first with no hesitation. I forgot that he's used to these type of scenes. Monse and I followed behind him and I scanned around. All I have to say is that the inside of this house is just as nice as the outside.

"Imagine living in a fancy ass house like this," I couldn't help but say.

Ruby shrugged. "I'm used to it."

"You mean Mario's used to it, not you."

He looked at me. "Same difference. Su casa es mi casa."

I squinted at him.

Monse translated. "He said-"

"I know what he said!"

She put her hands up as I looked around some more. I see some teenagers drinking alcohol. Others are heading to the backyard which has a big pool and a hot tub.

I'm so jealous right now. "Damn, is this how Brentwood people get down? We are so out of place."

"They get down waaaay better than this. Trust," Ruby replied.

I rolled my eyes inwardly as Olivia and Latrelle came into view. They entered the house together and I fixated on Olivia's beauty. She's wearing a cute little dress that perfectly compliments her figure.

Damn.

Then I focused on Latrelle's annoying ass. He smiled at Monse and she smiled back and waved.

He really has the audacity to smile? After what he did to my fucking dad? And I don't understand why Monse keeps entertaining him.

"Explain to me why you're friends with him again?" I asked her angrily.

Ruby answered for Monse. "Apparently he's cOmpaSsiOnate."

"He is!" Monse affirmed. "He cheered me up when you and Jamal failed to, so."

I scoffed. "I wonder why."

"Because he's compassionate!"

A compassionate person wouldn't try to rob my dad at gunpoint, joke or not, but okay.
