Rebecca stared at him and she smiled.

Dan saw the change in her eyes.

'What was she thinking?'

Rebecca went to him and locked her arm in his, which in turn made Dan's eyes widen in astonishment.

"Don't you know what personal space is?" Dan brushed her off of him.

Rebecca didn't like that and shook her head.

"No, I don't."

"Could you like disappear? I'm leaving. I only came to see Lil-"

"Oh, please."
Rebecca was getting really annoyed at him saying that name.

"Lily this, Lily that. Why are you so hung up on her anyway? I'm sure, your love must have smothered her, I bet she couldn't even breathe with you around."
She 'pffted'

"You sound like a lost puppy who lost its owner, " she said condescendingly.

Dan's brows furrowed.

"Oh I'm sorry, did that surprise you?" It's not very attractive you know, " She stated.

'But I like you all the same.' Rebecca thought.

"Why are you saying this?" Dan stared at her. He just couldn't figure her out.

"Oh?" She moved closer.
"Because I want you to let go of Lily and move on!"

'What?'

"She's dead, she's never coming back, " she fumed.

Those words pierced Dan's heart so deeply he almost lost it.

"Don't say that, " he let out almost breathlessly. His heart clenched, he felt pain there he couldn't comprehend.

"Why? It's true, " Rebecca stated matter-of-factly.

Dan became short of breath and leaned against the wall of the restaurant for support.

"Come, Dan." She held his hand.

"I'm the one you want, you just don't know it yet, " she whispered.

Dan blindly followed. He felt sick for some reason and he couldn't think straight.

Rebecca led him to a parking lot close by and they both got in her Benz and she drove off.

Rebecca stared at Dan, his eyes were closed and he seemed a little out of it.

She took him back to her home at Shadyside.

She helped him out of the car and made for the door.

Rebecca groaned.
'Gosh, he was heavy.'

'But I got to touch him, so...'
Rebecca grinned.

She took him to one of the spare rooms that was mostly plain and bare. She made him lie down on the bed.

Rebecca placed a hand on his forehead—he was burning up.

His eyes were closed and his breathing was uneven.

Rebecca sighed.
'Why was he suddenly acting this way?'

She stared at him for a moment and an idea came to her.

She got on the bed and snuggled up to him.
Rebecca just stared at him.
She brushed a few strands away from his face and her heartbeat spiked.

He was very handsome.

Her eyes went to his jawline and then they trailed to his lips.

His eyes were still closed and he seemed to be having a nightmare.
