War 2

~'Nothing ever goes according to plan'
...at least that's what they say.~

"Master!"

Dan turned away from his father who still sat on the throne to face the messenger.

He was still in hell; he needed to be on the battlefield. They needed to utilize the cover of darkness to execute their plans effectively because once morning came, they would be at a disadvantage.

"What?" Dan growled out once his eyes landed on the miserable messenger.

The creature which looked no bigger than a dog trembled in fear.

"A-Attack, our t-troops are under attack."

Dan gritted his teeth.
"Who dares attack our camp?"

It moved back in apprehension.

Dan growled grabbing the creature by its throat and raising it to his eye level.

Dan could feel it tremble as he glowered into its hollow eyes.

"A-Angels m-master. There are many of them."

Dan threw it to the ground. Steam erupted into the air as the lava that seeped through the cracks of the rocks flowed freely.

Dan turned to Lucifer who had a grin on his sinister face.

"What are you going to do now?"

"Those angels can be really tricky to deal with."

"We're lucky Michael is yet to join them, you know when that happens, even this troop won't be able to stop his hosts."

Dan clenched his fist and stared at Lucifer.

"I'm going up and I'm taking Malphas with me."

"Take Sin too, " Lucifer said.

Dan hesitated and looked up at him.

"Why?"

"Because you cannot win this war without her by your side."

Dan's brows furrowed.
"I don't want her to go with me."

"Because you love her?"

"I loved her too, she is my muse."

"I understand why you're so drawn to her, she'll give you everything you could ever want anyway."

Lucifer's red eyes glinted.

"I know, " Dan replied.

"Son, do you know why you chose Sin?"

Dan clenched his jaw.

"Because the apple doesn't fall far from the tree."

"You are my son after all." Lucifer smiled at him.

"You keep reminding me."

"I wish I had known my mother, " he added.

The air stilled for a moment and everything stopped; even the fire seemed to simmer down.

Dan transformed into his human self.

Lucifer stood from his throne, his black wings stretching wide behind him.

He also transformed into his human form as he climbed down and approached Dan.

Dan stared at the personality standing before him and he could feel beyond a reasonable doubt that a part of Lucifer resided in him.
