Jordan's pov
I saw the opportunity, and i couldn't help but take it. They lowered their guns, all of them. I even saw Cassie do it. That's where they messed up. I bolted, running behind a small shed just barley dodging a bullet from afar. I knew i wasn't alone, but of course this is the one time i don't listen to my gut. "I TOLD YOU NOT TO SHOOT," i hear the familiar voice burn through my heart, breaking it all over again. Instead of breaking down, i had a job to finish. And i wasn't going to let them get in the way of my work. "David they're here it's a group of people turn my shit on." I mumble as i climb a latter to get on top of the shed. I didn't want to tell him the people just so happen to be my ex boyfriend and his crew. I just hoped he turned my powers back on so i could leave without being shot at again. I peer down to see them look around for me, and argue a little. "Well i fucking told him not to shoot! Now where will she be? She's not going to even consider turning over!" I hear Colby yell, and i roll my eyes. Of course he's arguing instead of focusing. I pull my gun back out, slowly aiming to the guy i was supposed to take out just seconds ago. "Hey!" I heard Ayria yell in my direction, he heard. I had no choice now. I pull the trigger, the bullet escaped the gun faster than light. And right in the victims spine. Idiot, out of all the people i killed, he is one of the few that genuinely deserved it. I take a step back, realizing what i just did. I killed a man, but this one was different. Everyone saw, and they weren't just everyone. If only they knew who i was behind my hood. I throw my mask back on, and stand at the edge of the shed, i swing my arms before making an attempt to jump over the fence. I hear shouts behind me, begging me to stop, before another gunshot was heard. From a big distance. I'm knocked off my balance mid air, slamming into the fence as the bullet carved into my left shoulder. "MIKE WHAT THE FUCK." I hear behind me, anger pouring out of their voice. His voice. I whimper slightly, before a pair of too familiar hands help me up. My vision goes in and out, and i can't think straight. All i feel is pain, but i can't be here any longer. There's only a matter of time until- "Oh my God are you okay? I told him not to shoot i swear we aren't the bad guys here." Colbys voice was soft with me, and he didn't even know it was me. He genuinely cared about me, despite the people i've killed. He pulls me up right, steadying me gently. I couldn't help but lock eyes with his, the terrible lighting from the sky and the shed still managed to get every feature, not a flaw on him. I looked at him, and felt myself sinking again, his eyes darted to mine, before he spoke through his own earpiece. "Stand down, help the guy, i'm good over here." The more he spoke the more i knew i had to get out of here, but my body couldn't seem to move. I was stinging in pain, physically and emotionally. I just wanted to go back in his arms, and tell him it's okay, that i won't leave anymore. His gaze pierced mine, he already knew who i was. His hand left my wounded shoulder and to my face, he had a thin layer of my blood on his hands, but i didn't care, i was too distracted by the fact that i was standing here. With my boyfriend- ex boyfriend, with a bullet through my shoulder, yet my world still felt perfect in this second. For once i didn't feel like a monster, or a killer. I felt safe. "Is it really you?" He asked, his tone was begging me to say yes, his eyes desperate for answers. I open my mouth to speak, but i hear someone creep around the corner. I quickly hid behind Colbys body, my small one easily hidden. "Heard you needed a hand?" Aryia's voice was threatening, he knew he was talking to me. Now was my chance. I snuck back behind Colby, neither of them knew i would be gone by the time Colby turned around, but at least i got to see him. Maybe the reason i blocked him out of my mind was because i didn't want to accept the fact that he cheated. My heart couldn't handle that, so i took him out of it. I only kept my ring, the little piece of me i kept everywhere. "You heard wrong," i hear Colby say back in the same tone. I hide behind a small bush before thinking of any other solution. I could sneak back and fight, or jump the fence again and make a run for it. "Turn around then." Aryia demands from Colby. He exhales nervously before stepping aside, Aryia looked confused to see nothing. Not a single trace of me to be found. His face was priceless. And i heard Colby chuckle a little too. "Told you, all good here." He smirked at Aryia who didn't seem to buy it. "So Mike didn't hit her?" He asked suspiciously. He shrugged, obviously lying. "Even if he did she's gone now, haven't seen her." He nodded slowly, walking away. "Oh and Ayria?" Colby called back, Ayria turns his head, cocking an eyebrow. "Don't eavesdrop on me, ever again." Colby was stern with his wording, making his point crystal clear. Aryia just nodded before jogging away. I didn't think Colby knew where i was, but i was way wrong. He leaned up against the fence just a couple feet from where u was crouched down. I get up and lean on the fence with him, more near the shadows so you could only see a figure of me. "I know it's you," he whispered, making my breath hitch. "You can't deny it J, i heard you, i know your voice. I even looked into your eyes Jet, i'll recognize you, always." I froze with his words. He couldn't possibly know what could happen if i stayed here any longer, they'd all be dead in a second. I shake my head, clearing the thoughts of my old friends dead body's scattered everywhere. I wouldn't be able to handle it. "I don't know what you want me to do. It's not that simple anymore." My voice teared, and my shoulder ached of pain. "Just let me help you, please baby." Colby begged. His voice soft and broken, i didn't dare get caught in his gaze though, the way he called me broke my heart again. I hated the way he acted like he didn't do anything. I still take a step closer to him, i ached his touch, his affection towards me. "Turning them back on, don't try anything." David's voice boomed against my ears, and i saw pairs of eyes snap towards mine. "THATS HER!" I heard Brennen yell towards me as they got up to run. I cursed not so quietly, before using a wooden plank to boost myself up and over the fence. I felt an arm attempt to grab my ankle, but missing by a millisecond. It threw me off, i roll on the floor, landing on my wounded arm. I cry out, before standing up dizzily. I shake it off, running as fast as my arm would let me to another tall building, thankfully it had a latter attached to the side for easy access. I jump up a head start, climbing as fast as i can with one fully functional arm. I throw myself to the top, and pull out a pen. But it wasn't an ordinary pen, i drew on the edges of the latter with it, smoke coming up from the sides before it started to collapse. Using it just once activates the entire thing, so i toss it to the side of the metal roof, avoiding burning my hand off. I lay back for a second, i really shouldn't be resting, but my mind was going crazy. "Where are you?" I asked through my earpiece. Before i could get a response i heard someone creep behind me. "I'm here," Colby said behind me. I stand to my feet, pulling out a pocket knife i hid in my shoe. I don't face him, i'm honestly scared to. "Congrats, there's not much people that can sneak up on me." I whisper, throwing my hood back on. "Well what can i say i'm a man of many talents." I hear the sarcasm in his voice jokingly making me chuckle, shaking my head before turning to him, he's a lot closer than i heard. "Come back to me, please." He asked, and took my hand that held the knife. He tugged it away, and tossed it on the ground. And i let him, i felt like crying into his arms. He placed a hand on my face, and didn't look away from my eyes. But something wasn't right, i felt it. I push him away quickly, snapping my body around to see Jake and Brennen standing on the other side of the roof. They were going to get me from behind. I scoff at them. This was going to be a hell of a fight.
