Anarchy

This is anarchy.
We are fighting for our rights.
We do not forgive.

People want change.
People want to be heard.
People do not feel
Like they are being listened to.

What have we come to?
My hearts breaks
and aches
For those in pain.
What is this brutality?
Cops should be protecting us,
How is this our reality?
How can we trust
The justice system?
It is corrupt.
It is targeting the opressed,
It is obsessed with power.
These cops do not represent the law.
They represent the corrupt.
They are criminals of permission.

Why would they defend
An offender?
A murderer,
Who will most likely not face
any serious jail time?
If he does, he will be protected.
Why are we not the ones being protected?
Why is the black community not being respected?
Why are they affected
By this racial injustice?

I am not a man of politics,
But this sickens me.
We all deserve human rights.
This is not what we call
Being free.
I do not agree with the riots.
Then again,
How else will they see?
How else can there be change
If the government does not listen?
Why should we stand down,
When we are being peaceful?
There are riots because the people,
They want to be heard.

But no one is listening.
The ones in power
They are sickening.
What a poor excuse
For leaders.
They can't even understand
The outrage.
This poor excuse of a president
Is hiding in a bunker.
What a loser.
While the black community is being murdered
He is unbothered.
What a coward.

I want change
against this racial discrimination.
Why is there still segregation
In a country
That claims to be free?
Protesters who have been peaceful
Have been met with tasteless evil.
Not all cops are bad
But where are the good ones?
Why are they not standing up
For our black brothers and sisters?
Why are they not there
To fight against this injustice?

Why have so many come face to face
With tear gas and rubber bullets?
Do not make me laugh and tell me
That the cops have been helping.
What do you expect?
The police have been escalating all of this.
The moment we stop fighting for what is right
Is the moment we will let them win
Too many people have been turning a blind eye to this issue.
America is burning because they are tired
Of letting the injustice win.
This is enough.
This cannot go on.
Change needs to happen.
Change starts with the people.
We cannot forgive and we cannot forget.
We are the voice. Let's fight for what is right.
Lets fight for the innocents who have been unrightfully murdered.
People of colour have been victims for too long.
We need to unite as one.
