Then Abner callers to Joab and said, "Shall the sword devour forever? Do you not know that it will be bitter in the latter end? How long will it be then until you tell the people to return from pursuing their brethren?"
2 Samuel 2:26
Abner was the commander of King Saul's army (Israel), and Joab was the commander of King David's army (Judah). You live by the sword, you die by the sword. There was a lot of fighting during this time, and a lot of division; although David was God's choice to rule over Saul.
Many countries, including the USA, go through this - it is called civil war. God has all the answers, and it is not my place to question. In the end, God will reveal what He wants. When is the end? Excellent question. Look at what Jerusalem has been through. Idk - tell God you love Him.
