"Go and proclaim these words toward the north and say:
'Return, backsliding Israel,'
says the LORD;
'I will not cause My anger to
fall on you.
For I am merciful,' says the
LORD;
'I will not remain angry
forever.
Only acknowledge your
iniquity,
That you have transgressed
against the LORD your
God.
And have scattered your
charms
To alien deities under every
green tree,
And you have not obeyed My
voice,' says the LORD.
Jeremiah 3:12,13
God loves His people, no matter how bad they are. He is merciful and will not remain angry, if, and only if, the people acknowledge their sins. The people unfortunately are worshiping other deities (gods).
God gives us all many chances to come back to Him. And as long as you are breathing, you can accept Jesus as your savior. No sin is too big for God.
There are many references to this in the Bible. Jesus even tells a parable about it. It doesn't matter when, just the fact you do it. Believers should always encourage people to turn to God. Tell God you love Him.
The LORD bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.
Love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.
