"This is a nice apartment y/n." My best friend, Amanda, said admiring the place.

"Thank you. It'll look more like a home when I start decorating." I said looking at the blank walls around us.

"You have a balcony?" She asked walking towards the sliding glass door that leads out to the balcony.

"Yeah, there's already a glass table and two patio chairs out there." I said following her out there.

"This is an amazing view!" She said looking off at the sunset between two tall buildings.

"Yeah it is." I said leaning over the metal rail.

"Well I need to get going, I got a hot date tonight." She said putting her purse over her shoulder.

"Who is the lucky guy?" I asked raising my eyebrows. It wasn't surprising that she was going on a date with a new guy. She is always with some guy.

"His name is Adam, Adam Brooks." She said with a shy smile. I laughed and guided her to the front door.

"Well good luck, maybe this one will be the one." I said for about the 6 hundredth time.

"Maybe." She said before walking out of the apartment.

I was hanging up a photo of my brother and I when my phone started ringing. I noticed that it was my boyfriend, tyler, calling.

"Hey," i said holding my phone up to my ear using my shoulder.

"Hey babe, how is the moving in going?" He asked in his deep voice.

Great. You know since I don't have anyone to help me it going fantastic. I rolled my eyes before answering, "it's going good."

"That's good. I'm sorry I haven't called you in a while, I've been busy studying." He said.

"Oh it's okay. I understand." I said trying to get the photo straight on the wall.

"Well I was just calling to see how everything is going. I'll call you again when I can." He said.

"Okay, bye I love you." I said stepping back to see the photo better.

"I love you too." He said before hanging up. I sighed and plopped my phone down on the unmade bed.

Tyler and I have been together for 6 months. For the last 3 months of our relationship it hasn't been the same clingy, love like it was in the beginning. We barely talk, and hardly ever see each other. He is in college in New York, and I'm working for a modeling agency in California. So we hardly see each other.

I stepped out on my balcony with a glass of red wine in my hand. I swirled the red liquid around the clear glass as I stared down at the road beneath me.

"It feels amazing out here." I jumped when I heard a deep voice. I looked over to see a boy with brown hair about my age in a maroon hoodie and black jeans leaning against the rail. His eyes were focused on something in the distance.

"Uh, yeah it does."  I agreed awkwardly.

"Did you just move in?" He asked turning his attention to me.

"Yeah. Actually I just moved in today." I said before taking a sip of the wine.

"Oh, well I'm shawn by the way." He said flashing a bright smile revealing his perfectly straight white teeth.

"I'm Samantha."
