"Shawn is coming home tonight." My Mom said as she flipped through her magazine. My stomach did flips when I heard his name. I wanted to see him, but then again I don't know if he even remembers me.

"He probably doesn't even remember me." I said laughing lightly.

"Oh come on y/n. You two dated for a year, you probably would still be together if he wouldn't of had to go on tour." My Mom said turning to look at me.

"Well he might not want to see me." I shrugged before getting off the velvety couch and walking up to my room.

"That's not what his mom said." I stopped in front of the stairs. I turned slowly to face my mom.

"What?" I asked confused.

"Karen told me that Shawn wants to see you. He told her that he misses you." My heart was beating out of my chest. I'm pretty sure if you were standing beside me you would be able to hear it.

"I bet you want to see him now." My mom said smiling before she took a sip of her red wine. I rolled my eyes and tried to hide my smile.

"Y/n, someone is here to see you!" My Mom yelled from down the stairs. My stomach filled with butterflies, my hands began to shake from my nervousness. I made my way down the stairs to the front door.

I stopped when I met the familiar chocolate chip colored eyes. His brown hair was was much longer and styled differently. His style had changed from a flannel to more of a dressy shirt. He looked really good.

"Y/n," his lips curved into a smile when he said my name. I walked closer to him still not believing he was here. He pulled me in for a warm hug. I hugged him back as I wished we would stay like this forever.

"I'll let you two catch up." My Mom said walking away. we pulled away from each other as she walked off.

"How have you been?" Shawn asked me as we walked into the living room.

"I've been good, I finally got my drivers license." I said causing Shawn to laugh softly. He knew I was a terrible driver, and that it took me until I was 18 to get mine.

"How was tour?" I asked looking up at him just for a second.

"It was good. I met some amazing people, and saw some stunning places." Shawn explained.

We talked about random things, and memories for about 2 hours. It was nice to talk to Shawn, but it was still awkward. It was obvious that we were avoiding the break up. That was until Shawn brought it up.

"I'm sorry." He said out of nowhere.

I looked at him confused, "what?"

"I'm sorry that I broke up with you. I shouldn't have. I regret it everyday. I miss you, I miss all the things we used to do. I understand if you don't want to take me back, I know it's my fault." Shawn apologized.

I was speechless. I didn't know what to say.

"I miss you too shawn." I managed to say. His eyes filled with hope.

"But it's complicated. When you left I started to move on. I was heartbroken of course, but I didn't want to spend all my time being miserable because you weren't here. I'm also scared that if we were to start things over again, you would do the same thing again." I admitted. It was something that I wanted to get off my chest for months.

"I won't ever hurt you again y/n. You mean so much to me. I love you too much to do that." Shawn said grabbing my small hand with his large ones.

I felt my skin burn under his touch. The old feelings I used to get whenever he would touch or kiss me came rushing back to me. I met his eyes and ended up getting lost in them. His face inched closer to mine, he looked up at me and back down at my lips. I closed the small space between us by placing my lips on his.

I guess feelings that come back are feelings that never left.
