Wreck

"Bye Jessica," my coworker said from her wooden desk.

"Bye." I said opening the glass door my the metal door handle. I walked out to my car with my purse over my shoulder. I unlocked my car and got into the driver's side. I put the key into the ignition and pulled out of the parking lot. I decided to call Shawn and tell him I was on my way home.

"Hey baby," Shawn's voice was raspy like he just woke up.

"Hey, just called to let you know I'm on my way ho-," a loud scream escaped my mouth as my body jolted forward. I could feel my phone slip from my hands as my body went limp. I couldn't feel anything, but a sharp pain going through my leg. All I could see was shattered glass around me. My eyes couldn't stay open, so eventually I passed out.

I could hear a faint beeping beside me, and a soft cry. I tried to open my eyes, but I couldn't. I felt someone's hand slip into mine.

"Hey baby, it's me." His voice soft voice ran through my ears making my heart beat fast.

"I wish I could see your beautiful eyes, and hear your voice. I'm so scared," he let out a small sob, "I'm scared I'm going to lose you." His hand squeezed mine. I used all the strength I had to move my fingers.

"Jessica," Shawn said shocked at my movements. My eyes fluttered open to see shawn with tears streaming down his face. He pulled me into a warm hug.

"You're not going to lose me Shawn." I assured before kissing his lips.
