*Jessie*
We’ve been here like six days now it’s just me and Dan here at the hospital now Danny’s family have gone back to our house to sleep. Its 3am in the morning Dan has actually fallen asleep for the first time in six days, sleep must have overtaken him and I had no plan on waking him up. I couldn’t sleep still as I still had that nightmare every time my eyes started to even in the slightest droop. I had hold of Rosie’s hand and I was still sat on Dan’s lap just like I had been in the past 6 days I wouldn’t be surprised if my ass print was on his leg the only time we would move from her bed would be to have a mega quick shower, change go to the toilet or get a drink and even then one of us is sat holding her hand. I still haven’t seen Shaya since I've been back because I haven’t left the hospital and I don’t want Shaya to see her sister like this, it wouldn’t be fair and to be honest I couldn’t stomach her reaction. Dan had only been sleeping for half an hour or so but I was almost afraid to move and wake him up. The light was still on so I could see clearly it hadn’t been turned off since we got here well in the evening because we don’t really need it in the day. The nurses often came in and out with drinks for us since we were in private I thought they were all quite sweet but I suppose they have to be because they probably get paid more for working in the ‘Private’ section. My head was leant on her bed and then something happened something I had been waiting for, for the past 6 days, I swear it happened her little finger twitched I swear. My head bolted up right just to check I wasn’t dreaming but it happened again it may have only been the littlest twitch ever but it was there I shook Danny but of course it’s Danny no reply so his name would have to do.
Jessie: Daniel!
At that his eyes flickered open and as soon as his brain reconnected with his surrounding he looked at me in the eye I think he obviously saw the slight bit smallest twitch of a smile in my face as he looked at me curiously before speaking in his normal sexy Irish morning voice.
Danny: Babe? Sorry did I fall asleep what’s up you look a bit more perky, I mean it is like early hours in the morning as well, you are so not a-
Jessie: morning person I know but I've not slept in 6 days but Dan she twitched her little finger twice it twitched
Danny: are you sure Jess
Jessie: yes Danny I'm sure I know what I saw I had to blink loads after the first time then she did it again
Then he lean around me also holding her hand of course as well as mine and then talking to her
Danny: Rosie sweet heart, open your eyes for Daddy or just move a lit-
I know why he cut himself off again because she did it again and he looked at me in disbelief I looked at him in the same direct way and we almost lost it before I spoke.
Jessie: see I told you I wasn’t dreaming, Rosie baby girl come on just flutter those beautiful eyes
She didn’t but she did something else that made us believe that slight bit more oh my god, I thought maybe we wouldn’t get to this day even though she’s not awake it’s a start I suppose. Her head moved her whole head went to the side.
Danny: should we call a doctor he may know what’s happening I mean it could be side effects
Jessie: yeah, but don’t leave me press the buzzer
Danny: ok
He leans by her bed and whacks the buzzer probably harder than he meant to but it was still hitting it I suppose. Not that long after he wanders in with a clip board and smiles at us.
Doctor: hello how may I help you?
Jessie: she moved, first her finger and then her whole head moved the side I'm not even kidding
Doctor: really?
He sounded like he didn’t believe me and I needed to show him
Jessie: yea come over watch this
He wanders over to us and stands at the end of her bed looking me to start whatever I was going to do and then he looks intensely at Rosie.
Jessie: Rosie, princess move for mummy please I ne-
Then she did it her head moved again this time in the opposite position and the doctor smiled which made me and Dan both smile obviously it was a good thing
Doctor: well I never, when I looked at Rosie’s statistics in the beginning I thought “ Ah its slim” I'm sorry to admit that but this little girl had proved to me otherwise she’s the biggest fighter in a little one year old I've ever known I an safely say Rosie will wake up, I don’t know how soon I just know because normally after two weeks if they even make it that far they do that and for her to do it in 6 days is incredible. And for her to do it to her voices is a new thing normally they don’t respond to noise when then are in this situation but this little girl is special and I bet her sister is the same you two should be very proud they are one in a million, now I'm gunna leave you too it
We say thank you and I cant keep the smile off of my face I mean who could I mean my little girls going to be ok. The doctor walked out and I turn my face to look at Danny
Jessie: it’s going to be ok Dan
I kiss him and he kisses back of course
Danny: everything works out I love you
Jessie: I love you too
