[ Not So Easy ]

Cat

I BEND DOWN TO LOOK AT one of the three lifeless bodies on the ground. The girl looks about fifteen. She has long ombre hair. There is a cut on her lip and cheek. She wears a turquoise shirt that is covered in blood from her wound. She has been shot.

I moved on to the second girl who is in the same position as the other girl on the ground. She has blonde hair that comes to her shoulder. She looks around nineteen. She has a deep cut in her stomach. She bled to death.

I went to the next girl and to examine her. She has long, dark brown hair. She looks around fourteen. The girl looks perfectly fine until you look around her neck. A purple and blue bruise is wrapped all around her neck. She had been choked.

After looking over the 3 girls I walk over to the ambulance where the fourth girl is wrapped in a blanket getting stitches on her forehead. She also has a lot of bruises on her arms.

"Hi, I'm Detective Miller but you can call me Cat. I need to ask you a couple questions, sweetie. Ok?" I explain.

The girl looks around sixteen; she has brown eyes, and long, curly blonde hair. She nods in response.

"Alright, what's your name?" I begin.

"Annabelle Stone." She replies. Her voice was weak and shaky.

"That's a pretty name. Do you have a nickname?" I ask.

"Some people call me Anna or Bell," She begins, "But they all called me AnnaBanana," Her voice is quiet. It sounds like she would burst into tears any minute.

"What is your relation between those three girls?" I ask. I took out my notepad to jot down some notes.

"The one with the dark brown hair is my younger sister." She says

"Her name?" I ask.

"Kylie Stone." Her eyes were glossy.

"How old is she?" I ask jotting down her name on the paper.

"She would have been fourteen in a couple weeks." She replies. A tear rolls down her cheek into the palms of her hands.

"And the other two girls?" I question.

"They were my friends," She replies, "The one with the ombre hair is Chrissy Lana. The blonde one is Lauren Sierra. Lauren is eighteen and Chrissy is seventeen."

I wrote down the information she gave me on the notepad.

"Alright, and do you know who the killer is?" I ask.

She shakes her head, "I remember what he looks like."

"A sketch artist should be here any minute for that," I smile at her.

I asked her more questions, and then let the doctor finish stitching her up.

The killing happened in the city park. I got a call from my boss at seven this morning to come in, I have a new investigation. The park is now closed as detectives search the area for any evidence from the killer.

This case isn't going to be easy as some of the other ones I've solved, that's for sure.
