A/N: Sorry for the long wait. I need some ideas for this story so please feel free to give me some. It would help move this along. This is short but I hope you enjoy!

Chapter 34 Cemetery

Spencer and I had been dating for about a month now. It was a new feeling and I was enjoying it. He was kind, sweet, gentle, honest. He was insecure but so was I, after my last boyfriend I didn't trust easily. What my father did didn't make trusting men any easier either. I smiled as I entered the flower shop. I had a stop to make before work today.

Spencer's POV

I arrived at work early that morning. I wanted to do something for Leandra but didn't know what. We had been dating for three weeks five days 20 hours 30 minutes and 20 seconds. After I lost Maeve I didn't think I would ever find anyone again despite my team telling me I would. Lea made me happy, she made me smile. I wanted to protect her even though I knew she could protect herself. When eight rolled around she still hadn't arrived.

I tried texting her, but she didn't respond. I tried calling her and she still didn't answer. I went to Hotch's office and knocked. "Come in," he said not looking up from the files he was working on.

"Hotch, I was just wondering if you knew why Leandra hasn't come in yet? I can't get her to answer her phone," I said.

Hotch looked at me, "She'll be here soon enough, I'll let her explain. I wouldn't ask her here though," Hotch said.

"Thank you," I said turning to leave.

"Reid," Hotch called to me. I turned to look at him. "She'll be fine. If she needs you she'll call. Just let her be for now, unless you want her pissed off." I nodded and left. I went back to my desk and sat down as Leandra came in. It looked like she had been crying.

I got up and went to her, "Lea, what's wrong?" I asked taking her hands.

"Nothing Spence, I'll talk to you later about it. Thanks for asking though," she said. She went over to her desk and set her coat and purse down just as Garcia came through.

"Sorry my lovelies but we have a case and it is nasty," she said heading for the conference room.

Leandra moved to follow her grabbing her tea on the way. I followed her with my coffee. "Did our girl genius have a late night last night?" Morgan asked as she jogged up the stairs.

"Don't Morgan unless you're looking to get slugged," she said going into the room.

"Oh, fire in that one. Have fun with that one kid," Morgan said to me. I ignored him and moved to stand next to Lea as she took her seat. I sat beside her and watched her as she seemed to get lost in her own thoughts.

Leandra's POV

As I left the flower shop I got a text. I glanced at my phone to see who it was from. Spence was texting me. I put my phone back in my pocket without reading the text. I got back into my car and drove to the cemetery. Today was my ex's birthday, I was the only one that visited him. His family had disowned him when he was a teenager; I had been his only friend. Unfortunately I hadn't been able to save him.

I parked and walked to his grave as my phone rang. It was Spence's ring tone. I ignored it, I just couldn't right now. I sat down at the grave and placed the flowers in their place, removing the old ones. "I'm sorry about that dear; I think I found myself a new lover. The whole thing is still new. Happy Birthday hun."

I dusted off his head stone. I was the only one that came out here, he was who I talked to when I just needed to talk. "Sorry that I haven't been out in a while. Work has me traveling all over the country. I've been captured a few times but I'm all right." I sat in silence for a few moments. I glanced at my phone, it was almost nine. "Well, I would like to stay here and talk to you for the rest of the day, but I have to go to work. I hope where ever you are your birthday is being celebrated. I miss you dear and I still love you, I will always love you." With that I left.
