𝙄𝙍𝙊𝙉 𝙈𝘼𝙉: 𝙏𝙒𝙀𝙉𝙏𝙔- 𝙊𝙉𝙀

Start from the beginning

Christian averted his gaze from the painting to Alora's blonde wavy hair, he leans closer to her and placed a tender kiss on the back of her head. "You could try talking to him, find out his reason. Might help you understand him better."

Alora rested her head on his shoulder, allowing her to be closer to his face, with a smile Alora said. "I love how wise you are."

Christian chuckled before mirroring her smile, they both lean closer and met halfway. Christian cupped her cheek while Alora snake her hand to the back of his head, feeling the softness of his hair in between her fingers. Alora broke the kiss first, a drunk smile played on her lips and Christian had to give her lips a small peck which caused them to giggle at one another.

"I'm just glad I can help." Christian said before drinking his wine, Alora lean off him and turn to face him while sitting crisscross.

"Tell me something about yourself." Alora said with a cheeky smile, Christian arc an eyebrow.

"I thought we were past that basis." Alora narrowed her eyes at him playfully. "Okay, fine. What do you want know?"

The blonde woman put on a thinking face, her gray eyes analyzing him. Christian Prime has always been a simple guy, down to earth, money never changed him and that was one of the many traits she loved about him. She knew him years before they reconnected back in Las Vegas for they went to the same business school, so instead of asking the same boring questions she thought of something else.

"Alright." Alora nodded to herself, her smile never disappearing. "I want you to answer truthfully alright?" Christian rolled his eyes playfully but nodded. "If you had a time machine—."

Christian burst out laughing, grasping his chest as he his head fell back on the couch, his eyes were squeeze shut creating adorable wrinkles. "Oh god—seriously?!" Alora rolled her eyes before taking the last sip of her wine and setting it on the coffee table as she waited for her boyfriend to stop laughing. "I think wine is having an effect now."

Christian took in deep breath to try and calm himself down before sitting properly. "Well, I think its adorable that you're a light drinker." Christian shot her a playful glare to which Alora responded with wiggling her eyebrows before blowing him a kiss. "Okay so back to our time machine. Would you go back in time or visit the future?"

Alora stared at him with attention, Chirstian let out a long sigh before his brown eyes found their home on the meadow painting on the wall. Alora followed his gaze, noticing how nostalgic it was, she had to bite her tongue to try and stop from asking him what's the deal with the painting. "Back in time... definitely."

Alora frown as he stares at his face. "Why?"

Christian never took his eyes off the painting, there was definitely a story behind it and Alora found herself hoping he would share it with her. "To stop myself from acting like a spoil brat and spend all the time of the earth with her."

Her. Alora felt the word resonate in her mind, curious thoughts and doubts arose from the depth of her mind. Wondering if it was a lover he was referring to or maybe a family member or a pet, struggling to contain herself Alora shoot her shot.

"Who?"

Christian turn to face her with a sad expression. "My mom." Alora's face fell, never imagining that Christian had lost a parent since he always spoke so happily of his family. "That painting you see on the wall—that was her last gift to me."

Alora turn to see the painting with different eyes, all full of emotion and respect. "What happen to her?"

"Breast cancer." Christian blurt out, he leans closer to the coffee table and pour himself more red wine before taking a full swing of it. "Took her away from us when I was sixteen, I was reckless and uncaring back then. I hated seeing her like that, so I didn't visit her at all except for the first two weeks. I wish I could go back and hold her hand, tell her how much I love her and how an amazing mother she was. I didn't deserve her; she didn't deserve a son like me."

Alora was quick to wrap her arms around him and hold him close to her. "What you went through wasn't easy Christian. You were a kid, you were scared and you didn't want to see your mom die."

Christian shook his head as he gripped her arm. "I let her down—God she must've died thinking I didn't love her."

"No!" Alora unwrap her arms off him and instead cupped his face firmly, noticing tears rolling down his cheeks. "A mother's love is the one thing that never disappears. Yes, you did wrong but there's no perfect way of handling a pain like that." She said softly, her thumb caressing his cheek. "Life took both of my parents away and there wasn't a day I wish the last couple of years with them would've been different. I was alone, or at least I thought I was."

Christian sniff, pulling away from Alora as he used his gray t-shirt to clean his eyes. "I'm sorry." He chuckled nervously, his eyes met hers. "I'm sure you were expecting a much... lighter answer."

Alora brought his face close to her and kissed him sweetly, letting him know that she was always going to be there for him. "Thank you for sharing it with me."

Christian joined their foreheads, his eyes were closed momentarily as he felt his heart fluttering with the thought of having her for the rest of his days. "Thank you for listening."

Alora chuckled before she leans back and pour herself more wine. "It's nothing really, I know how you must of feel, you and your dad. Living the rest of your life feeling like there's a missing piecing."

"We miss her like crazy, but that's a wound that heals every time you talk about it." Christian lean his glass of wine close to Alora so she could pour some to him. "I'm just glad dad met someone, he had it really rough when mom left us."

Alora smiled to him before placing the bottle of wine on the coffee table and leaning back on the couch. "That's amazing. I hope she's no Lady Tremaine, though."

Christian chuckled and shook his head. "No, far from it. She's a great woman, gentle but confident and—well, I-I feel like with her I have a chance of being the son I failed to be with my mom."

Alora grabbed his hand and placed it on her lap as she entwines their fingers. "What's her name?"

"Ava Herrera."

The rest of the night was full of bonding and getting to know each other better, their dreams and fears. Christian and Alora were in the middle of something when her phone started to buzz annoyingly causing her to check on it. All ounce of serenity and happiness Christian had given her was suck out of her with one single text from Jada Rasmus, Alora felt her anger begin to spike the more she read the text.

Obadiah Stane was planning on taking over the Maria Stark Foundation, change their way of operating and turn the foundation into a profitable one.

"What is it?" Christian said from behind her, his hands resting on her shoulders before letting out a loud hiss. "Ah! Dammit!"

Christian's cries of pain brought Alora back to reality, she turns to see Christian curling and uncurling his hands. "Oh my god, I'm so sorry. I didn't--."

"What did the text say Alora?"

Alora met his gaze, her apologetic expression darkening, causing her gray irises to turn into a deep fiery orange. "Obadiah plans to take over my foundation. My mother's! That's something I won't allow him to do, not under my watch."

"What will you do?" Christian asks, Alora smirks darkly.

"Ask him nicely to back the fuck off."
