Silence in the BAU Office a Spencer Reid love story

chapter 1: Meeting the Team

A/N: The picture above is my OC. I haven't thought of a name for her yet. As soon as I do I will let you know. I hope you enjoy. This may have slow updates, just like the rest of my stories. The new pic is different from the old one, but I want one that works, so here you go.

Chapter One Meeting the Team

I was riding to the BAU Office with my brother Aaron. I had been transferred to the BAU. I knew sign language that was one of the main reasons I had been transferred. My brother tapped me on the shoulder. I looked at him. "Are you ready?" he asked.

I nodded. I didn't like to talk, I sounded funny because I was deaf. But I wasn't born this way, at least that's what I've been told. "Good, because we're here," Aaron said. I unbuckled my seatbelt and grabbed my purse, go bag, and coffee.

I followed my brother through the building, picking up my ID on the way. We got on to the elevator and went to the ninth floor. Aaron tapped on my shoulder again & I looked at him. He pointed to his ear telling me to turn on my hearing aids. I sighed, I was used to the silence, I enjoyed it actually. I turned them both on to a low setting and followed my brother out as the elevator dinged.

The first thing I noticed was the noise. It was so loud in here. Phones were ringing and buzzing, heels clacked across the floor, people talking over each other, printers, copiers, and fax machines were running, draws on desks and file cabinets were being opened and closed as were doors to offices and the elevator was also making noise.

The coffee pot was dripping; the fridge and microwave were running. I clapped my hands over my ears. It was too loud in here. My brother put his hand over my shoulders and led me through a set of glass doors. If I thought it was loud in the hall, it was twice as loud in here. He took me to a room with a big round table. He then left to go get the rest of the team. "Leandra," my brother said. I turned to look at him as the rest of the team came in. My brother was followed by four other people. One had blonde hair and a very loud outfit; she was followed by a tall muscular African American male with a buzz cut.

Next was an older gentleman with a neatly trimmed beard, this was Rossi. I had read most of his books. Last but not least was a thin tall man with light brown hair and brown eyes. "This is Penelope Garcia," my brother said gesturing to the blonde. "This is Derek Morgan," he said gesturing to the dark-skinned man. I shook both of their hands. "I don't need to introduce David Rossi," Aaron said. I shook his hand as well.

Next was a dark haired woman who had joined us, "Emily Prentiss," she said as I shook her hand.

"And Dr. Spencer Reid," Aaron said. He just waved at me, not offering me his hand. I waved back.

"Interesting name, it means lion woman right?" Spencer asked. I nodded.

"Tell them Leandra, they need to know now, as you are a now a member of this team," Aaron said.

Everyone was staring at me, waiting for me to say something. I really didn't like talking, I sounded different from the others.  Best get it over with. "I'm deaf," I said.
