Turtle Temper: Part 4

Brooke's POV:

Spider Bytez keeps spitting acid at us, but luckily we have the ninja-like prowess to dodge his attacks. Unfortunately, one of his acid bombs hits the floor beneath Spider Bytez, Mikey, Leo & Donnie's feet. Why is this a bad thing? Directly beneath them is a gigantic pool of mutagen.

Donnie: "Uh, let's not fall through this floor, ok?"

Spider Bytez: "Dance for me, wimps. Watch me turn your friends into frog fries. I'll serve 'em up with your salad tongs."

Once he shoots a web up to our floor, Raph uses his sais to slide down on it while I swing my kamas to hit the ground beside him. We land safely as we get into our battle stances.

Spider Bytez: "Aw, little froggy thinks he can stop me. Ribbit, ribbit. What's that tadpole? Are you too scared to leap off your lily pad and..."

As he continues his ranting of insults, Raph & I share a look as we nod. We then turn back to our foe, close our eyes, and take simultaneous deep breaths as we repeat Splinter's previous words.

Raph & I: "Like a river over stone."

We then leap into action kicking and punching, before I get an idea that'll end this battle for good. I grab one of his spikes and pull it into one of his acid puddles. We then leap off of him to land in front of him.

Spider Bytez: "That's some kung fu, wimp. Guess you and your frog friends aren't so helpless after all."

Once the others leap to stand behind us, I give our foe a smirk as I correct him for the last time.

Me: "They're not kung fu frogs. They're Ninja Turtles. And for the last time, I'm not a wimp, I'm a kunoichi of the Hamato Clan."

We then leap to attack him, which proves to be successful. Spider Bytez drops his phone, and Raph smashes it with his foot as we back away from our opponent.

Spider Bytez: "Hey! My phone! You guys are gonna regret this."

He then leaps to the rooftop to run away, the five of us following suite. We stop at the edge of a rooftop as we watch him escape, satisfied with our victory.

Donnie: "I know a nice black widow that'd be great for him."

Leo then turns to Raph & I with a prideful smile.

Leo: "Good work, you two. I just wanna say..."

Raph: "You don't have to apologize. You & Brooke already made up a while back, and I've learned my lesson."

Leo: "I wasn't going to."

Raph: "Oh, good."

Mikey: "Yeah, Raph, not bad for a bloated buffalo."

Just as Mikey turns to walk away, I don a playful grin as I pounce on him. He yelps in surprise.

Mikey: "Ok, Raph & Brooke are all-wise & powerful."

Raph walks up to us with a chuckle, his grin widens at the sight as he leans over to face Mikey.

Raph & I: "And?"

Mikey: "And they're better than me in every possible way."

I then stand to get off of Mikey as I help him up.

Me: "Not true, Mikey. We are all equals. That's what makes us family, what makes us a team."

As we all walk back to the lair, I put a hand on Raph's shoulder, signaling him to stop & look my way.

Me: "Uh Raph, could we talk privately once we get back to the lair? There's something I need to tell you."

Raph: "Yeah, sure, Brooke. Anything you need."

I nod as he turned to follow the others, with me at his side. After everything we've been through tonight, I've decided that it's time I told Raph the truth, the whole truth. It's time...

To tell him how I really feel.
