"You don't shut up, ever?" I ask, kneeling by the water.

Daniel grins, nudging my arm, "You wanna shut me up?"

"I can think of a few ways," I nod.

"Oh yeah? Tell me more," he winks.

"Your sock in your mouth to gag you."

"Come on babe," he complains, "Here I was thinking you were playing along with me."

"Do either of you shut up, ever?" Jae asks, twisting my own words.

"Are you ever bearable to be around?" I fire back.

"God, okay can we stop arguing? We've been on the road all day and it's way too hot to waste energy on this," Daniel whines.

"Are you seriously complaining that it's hot again?" Jae scoffs.

Considering I lost count after the tenth time Daniel had complained about the heat, I couldn't help but agree with Jae for once. And that terrified me.

"Say it's hot one more time and I will give you a reason to sweat," I warn, picking my bat up.

"Babe, that just sounds like a fun time."

"Dude, can you keep it in your pants?" Jae sighs.

Please. Please God.

Please show me the way back to my family.

"You never said," Jae begins, "When did you suddenly become fluent?"

"I was the whole time. Your guys are just dumbasses," I shrug.

"Can you blame her? A bunch neckbeards led by Colonel Sanders barges in on you and your friends- what would you have done to protect yourself?" Daniel says.

"Besides, you called me an idiot and said to stop. How did you go from clueless to spewing Hangul within seconds?" I question.

"I only know: Idiot, fuck, bathroom, stop, yes, no, and a few honorifics," Jae explains.

"That is.. A range," I scoff, stepping over the railing below.

"Ben is mostly fluent," Daniel joins in the conversation again.

"You?" I point.

"No.. No, Ben just spent a lot of time with our grandparents. I was too busy with my own life to worry with it," he answers.

"Plus he watched too many kdramas for his own good. If I had to hear about Lee Minho one more time.." Jae sighs.

"Lee Minho is a God and should not be disrespected by people like you."

"Great," Jae frowns, "Another one. You and Ben will get along great."

"What about you? Parents rough on learning culture and all that?" Daniel asks.

"No, I'm the opposite. I lived in Seoul before all this," I motion around as though speaking of the world's current state.

"Then, what the hell are you doing here? Did you swim?" Jae asks.

"My sister and I were just supposed to be visiting family here. We got caught in the Atlanta outbreak just a couple weeks after and I've been here ever since," I run down, the wounds somehow getting easier overtime.

"That sucks," Daniel hums, "Sorry about that."

"My brother is the only family I have left that I know of," I nod, "Makes it that much more.. Necessary that I get back to him."
