It was dark when Sophia sniffled, throwing herself to sit down on the ground to hide her face in her hands.

I follow, sitting across from her and sighing.

"I'm sorry. We're lost because of me. Maybe he said left shoulder. Maybe I went the wrong way. I.." Sophia cries.

I reach into my bag, grabbing the water bottle I had luckily put there when I was searching through the cars, tapping it against her leg.

"Only water.. Don't waste with tears," I point to her eyes.

Sophia sniffs, wiping her tears away and grabbing the bottle, taking a single sip and handing it back to me. I set in on the ground between us, ready to share when needed.

"What else do you have in there?" she asks, nodding her head to my bag, "Any food?"

I open it, shuffling through the items I'd been carrying while scavenging. A blessing considering our current circumstance.

Grabbing what looked like a granola bar, I hand it to her as well.

"Thank you," she smiles, opening the packet.

She breaks it in half, handing me one of the sides. I accept it and in the cold night air, we share the bit of food we were lucky enough to have.

"We need somewhere to sleep. Somewhere to hide," Sophia mutters, looking around, "It's what the others would do. Rick, Glenn, Shane, Daryl.."

"Too dark to see," I frown, looking around in the pitch black.

"Need to do something," Sophia sighs.

I pack the water back up, standing up straight and helping Sophia stand as well. If we stopped holding hands, the risk of losing each other was too big as the moon was our only light.

In the distance, I could hear growling.

"Faster," Sophia gasps.

We stumble through the woods before finding a tent, the moon's light like a spotlight on it.

Sophia unzips it as I look in carefully only to jump back at the sight of someone inside.

"Walker?" Sophia whispers, stepping back as well.

When no sounds come from inside, I peek my head back in, carefully nudging the back of the chair and retreating. Again, nothing happens.

I unzip the tent the rest of the way, stepping inside slowly. Sophia follows and we both hold our noses as the smell of the corpse.

I feel around, grabbing what I hoped was a flashlight. For once, the hope worked out as I felt it and knew it was. But, as I flipped the switch nothing happened. I kneel down, opening my bag back up, retrieving my music player and opening the back where the batteries were stored. Once I had those, I open the spot on the flashlight and the batteries luckily fit in.

I flip the switch and light illuminates the tent. Sophia squeals, stumbling away from the body. I flash the light over, seeing what scared her.

Sitting in the chair was what was once a man, though you could hardly tell. His jaw was missing from the gunshot he'd given himself, maggots crawling around and inside the wounds. I cover my mouth, looking away as Sophia gags, covering her mouth and nose with her shirt.

"Not here," she shakes her head, "We can't sleep here."

"Nothing else we can do. Here or out there," I point the flashlight back and forth.

Sophia sighs, looking through the few items around the tent. But, she pauses as she looks back at the dead man. Before I could ask, she's cringing as she reaches to his chest, dropping her hold on her shirt to pull something off.
