Two gunshots were heard minutes after Carl left. I could only assume it was him after what he said.

But, I couldn't bring myself to tell Lori after learning of her pregnancy.

So, I was more than excited when Glenn and Daryl returned.

Only for them to begin to leave again once they explained they found Randall- as a geek, and that neither of them fired either of the gunshots.

Then, they stopped on the porch, calling everyone's attention.

"Carl's gone," Lori announces.

Regret makes my stomach ache as I look at her worried features- tears in her eyes.

"Hana, you saw him last. Do you know-"

"She's been with me since I got back," Glenn cuts her off.

"She was with me and Beth before that," Maggie speaks up.

I could feel guilt sneaking in now as they defended me without knowing the truth- that I knew Carl left to find Randall.

"We're gonna find him. All right? Come on," Carol ushers.

Together, Carol and Lori rush back into the house before I could even say anything.

Andrea lays the guns out, everyone beginning to take a few for themselves as their words blur in my head.

"Hey, Hana," Glenn calls, setting his hand on my shoulder.

"Translation," I breathe out.

"We're going to get in the cars, drive them around and take out the walkers," Glenn runs down.

"Me too," I nod.

"No, not you, too," he shakes his head.

Biting the inside of my lip, I ignore Shane's warning from this afternoon. I pull the gun from behind me, Glenn's eyes widening.

"Where did you get that?" Glenn demands.

"Shane said I needed it," I answer, "To protect everyone."

"We ain't got time. Let's move," Daryl rushes.

Maggie loads a gun herself, Glenn only becoming more stressed out.

"Now you?" he complains.

"You grow up country, you pick up a thing or two," Maggie shrugs.

Glenn sighs, eyes darting between us.

"Fine. Fine. Let's go," Glenn nods.

As Maggie and I begin off the porch together, Glenn calls out after us, "At least wait for me!"

--

As Maggie turns the car around, I crawl over to the other window, continuing to shoot the geeks down.

"She takes out one walker and suddenly thinks she's a female He-Man," Glenn mutters to himself as he reloads his gun.

"He-Man, Hana.. Same thing," I brush him off.

"I like her," Maggie expresses.

--

I felt exhausted, laying flat on my back in the backseat, Shane's gun resting on my stomach.

I had my headphones on, the music player resting in my bag as I tuned out everything else around me. I could see the sun beginning to rise. At the sight, I find myself twirling the sun pendant on my bracelet.

That was real, at least. Sophia and I still had our bracelets. That part was real.

When the car comes to a stop, I glance between the seats to where Maggie was easing herself to the passenger seat as Glenn walked around the car to the driver's.

When Glenn turns to check on me, I close my eyes, pretending to be asleep.

I couldn't tell when he turned back around, so I ease my hand to my bag, pausing my music.

"We're alive. We made it. Okay? I'm sure they are, too," Glenn comforts through Maggie's cries.

I open one eye, peeking to them. I catch Glenn's hand reach to Maggie's, holding her hand tightly as another form of reassurance.

When he hesitates his next words, I roll my eyes.

"Don't be stupid," I remind.

Glenn jumps a little, glancing to where I was. When our eyes meet, I shrug a little and close my eyes again.

"Maggie, I love you," Glenn confesses.

'Finally', I could only think. As he repeats the words to her, stronger this time, I smile and push for my music to continue playing.

--

As Glenn pulls us back to the highway, I could only feel nauseous.

Maggie rushes out of the car right away, running into Hershel's arms. The sight nearly made me smile in relief.

I look out the window, taking note of those here and those not.

Andrea, Shane, Patricia, Jimmy.. All gone.

I could see their absence, I didn't need to hear it.

"Come on," Glenn nods.

"I don't want to be here," I shake my head, glaring to the car that still had Sophia and I's names on it.

Glenn follows my eyes, frowning at the sight as well.

"It's not like before," he reminds.

"You're right," I nod, "It's worse."

I pull my headphones back over my ears and turn the music louder.

Glenn's eyes turn sad, reaching back to pat my knee before exiting the car as well.

I shuffle through my bag, grabbing my notebook.

Another tally and four more names.

--

Hours later, when holed up in remains of a building- Rick admitting to killing Shane, Rick seemingly lost his mind as he yelled to those of us that remained.

Rick killed Shane.

Rick held Jenner's words a secret- we were all infected.

Those lights on the video I was once amazed by.. The beautiful ones were there, still.

The dark ones that overtook Candace once she was bit.. Those were also there. Like a predator laying in wait to attack at any given moment.

We were infected. We were going to turn, bite or no bite.

I could only turn the volume louder.
