58. safe house

 june 27, 1977

A wave of bright white light blinded Selene from every direction when she woke that morning. She quickly tried to find cover, burying her head in Remus' chest.

Her head was pounding and her body was aching everywhere. She groaned painfully into Remus' shirt, who laughed pitifully 

"How ya feeling?" he teased

"Fuck you fuck you fuck you" her voice muffled

"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed"

"I'm never drinking again" 

"You say that every time you're hungover"

"And every time I'm not drinking again" she sighed

"That didn't make sense"

"You don't make sense"

"Come on let's go"

"Where?" she asked in an annoyed tone

"On a run"

"Very funny"

"It's the easiest way to get over a hangover, have I taught you nothing?"

"You're serious?" she looked at him with disbelief

"No he's Sirius" Remus grinned

"You really need a new joke" she narrowed her eyes

"I'm not kidding, we are going on a run"

"I'm not kidding either, no"

She did go on a run. 

After a long half hour of dragging her out of bed and annoying her into agreeing, Selene went on a dreadful run with Remus. 

She did feel a bit better after the fact, minus a small headache, but she would never admit that to him. She didn't have to though, he knew he was right. 

He made her lunch in the late afternoon while Sirius and James went for a run. Peter was still asleep, and possibly dead, they were all too scared to check.

"Do you think you're family is still sending people after you?" Remus asked sitting down next to Selene with a sandwich.

"I think we have a few days of freedom, just with the wedding, they have to deal with the aftermath of that, but after that  yeah, I do." she said with a little bit of fear in her voice 

"You okay?" he noticed the uneasy look on her face. She nodded, 

"The first time we saw the death eaters, they said they needed me alive, for the wedding I assume, but now that the wedding won't happen..." she fell into silence

"You think they just want you dead?" he asked 

"Can't have a Rowle rebelling around with Gryffindors tarnishing the family name can we?" she tried to crack a joke, but it was true.

Her parents had probably realized by now, they had no chance of getting Selene on their side, even using force her didn't work, so they just had to get rid of her. 

She had won. She outsmarted them, and this is what she got for it. Her life was becoming a lose-lose situation.

"It will be okay" He said wrapping her in a hug

"I know" she whispered, but she didn't know.

She didn't know anything
